SHe's terrific. I called about this today. All three reps. Also just expressed my dismay bout the wrecking ball to the white house... which is a metaphor for the whole F'ing mess!

Watching you from North Scottsdale, AZ. Speaker Johnson is making one absurd excuse after another, none of which make sense. Wishing you much success as you carry on the legacy of your wonderful father.

Like Speaker Johnson, i am a practicing Christian (hoping to get it right one day.). The sermon in my church on Sunday was Controlling the Tongue based on james 3, where james notes that the tongue can praise God as well as be used in very ungodly ways. ( and of course remember the ninth commandment not to bear false witness. ) i assume Speaker Johnson is well familiar with these texts. In humility i would like to ask him how he reconciles some of his statements with the dictates of our mutual faith. Two recent examples concern his comments before the No Kings 2.0 protest

1) that it was a “hate America” protest. I wonder why he thought that ahead of the protest and what he thinks now.

2) that he thinks “hamas supporters” ( and others— marxists, communists and terrorist)are a big (the whole) part of the Democrats’ constituency . Frankly i’ve never heard any American who was informed enough to make the distinction between Palestinian Gazans and Hamas express anything supportive of Hamas. So

Id genuinely like to hear what i’ve missed.

It comforts me when i hear of politicians who are following my Lord, and would like they are obedient to Christ in all things. However i am advised by scripture to be discerning( shrewd) about what i hear because humans so often do misuse the tongue.

What was his evidence behind such statements? What does he think now?

Really i’d like to trust that he speaks in the light of Christ based on information i don’t have rather than just to demonize some people for political advantage.

But it’s pretty hard to feel that @ this moment.

Actually, Barbara, you've got it all wrong about the "practicing Christian" part. The only real Christian in this equation is you. Johnson is a fake Christian; nothing that he does is even remotely "Christian."

She should send emails to her constituents listing the reasons why she can’t respond to the needs of her constituents all because of Johnson. They should then contact their senators and complain.

Johnson is a snake that needs to be removed.

Yes, there were a few typos in the original email post. They have all been corrected in the online version. Sorry about that all. Been a long day! Simon

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Calling it “the nuclear option,” House Speaker Mike Johnson opted on Tuesday to enter a medically induced coma to avoid swearing in newly elected Democratic congresswoman Adelita Grijalva.

Johnson spoke to reporters at Walter Reed Army Medical Center moments before doctors administered pentobarbital through an intravenous tube connected to his left hand.

“I’m doing this as a last resort,” he said. “I was really hoping that people would forget about the Epstein files or that the Rapture would happen, but no such luck.”

A Republican colleague who visited Johnson’s bedside hours after he fell into the coma said that the Speaker “seemed like his usual self.”

Thanks Simon. I think you’re right Johnson is obstructing passage of a budget as evidenced by lack thereof. But we hear more dissent within the GOP whose constituents are hard pressed on healthcare.

Millie Polli Haskell, It's an outrage and a disgrace that Adelita Grijalva still hasn't been seated! Tomorrow, I will be sending a few messages to my Sen. Scott and Rep. Luna!

What is in those Epstein Files? It must be horrendous! Plus, trump wants to do it all and not go through the process as required by law. 😡

So if there is no work and no reason to be in session then no Republican should be drawing their salary. If this were a "regular" job would a person continue getting paid for doing zero work??

I haven't had a chance to watch this yet, but I have to say BRAVO to you for having her with you today and kudos to her for her patience and perseverance . Here's hoping there's a hue and cry from Arizonans that makes a big difference, as well from the entire country. Johnson is pathetic - really: imagine having to contort yourself into such a pathetic image of a man.
