Any comment on the "news" that Dems are hedging on Cait Conley (NY-17) because it is expensive and Lawler is an OK guy and money would be better spent elsewhere.

This news struck me deeply today - DHS’ sweeping investigations of people and organizations exerting our First Amendment rights in righteous opposition to ICE in Minneapolis. History is rhyming, and looking a lot more like 1930s Germany and other fascist regimes.
Or even our recent past. My dad was an anti-Vietnam War organizer and used to joke about whether they had a mere file on him (likely), or did he rise to the level of a dossier?
Two quick comments. I understand and agree with the El Sayad concerns, but I have to say I have loved his recent ads. Disarming but also welcomingly joyful. And we so, so need some joy.
And quick self-report. Spending a few days with grandkids out of town keeps me from my normal VR work. Instead I have allotted an hour a day for phone banking for a state rep candidate, TX HD112, who is challenging a long time R incumbent. Phone banking is my least favorite thing to do, but frankly it’s 95% voicemail, and leaving a positive, brief VM is easy peasy.
