Read my post. I am advocating that the progressive/new left make a clean break from the DSA. It is not salvageable as a brand. William Lawrence just formally renounced the DSA in MI-07. Hong spent the last few weeks running away from her ridiculous positions, as did DAC in NY-13. I am all for a new more muscular left in our party but we simply must draw a line on the DSA itself. We cannot bring communism and pro-Russian, pro-Iranian, pro-authoritarian politics into our big tent, and nor should responsible leaders ask us to.

Called Booker & Kim re their bill to strengthen oversight of detention facilities, which has gone under the radar a bit. They've both been strong on shutting down Delaney Hall. Also mentioned DOJ & no CR that includes more Pentagon $.

Our gathering of NM Democrats who came out to support the party at Bow and Arrow in Albuquerque was so inspiring! I had the privilege of bringing messages for Senator Booker from Simon Rosenberg, proud Hopium members from the Garden State, and all other Hopium folks who are thankful for his courage and patriotism in delivering his fillibuster on the U.S. Senate Floor. He said it meant so much to him to receive those messages. Mementos include a souvenir selfie that he took from my phone and many other pics.
The attendees included distinguished guests Senators Luján and Booker, Deb Haaland and Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard (our Gubernatorial ticket), Rep. Melanie Stansbury, AG Raúl Torrez, NM Senate Majority Whip Michael Padilla, Speaker of the New Mexico House of Representatives Javier Martinez, DPNM Vice Chair Cam Crawford, DPBC Chair Jake Trujillo, and so many more.
There is not a lot of polling data yet, but Deb Haaland is ahead of her republican opponent according to the NYT in a post-primary survey. It could be a tight race, so we will be working hard to GOTV.

I am so pleased that Simon and others in our pro-democracy, anti-fascist Democratic Party are celebrating the idea that diversity is the source of our strength. The idea of the Rainbow Coalition harkens back to the speech delivered by the late Rev. Jesse Jackson at the 1984 DNC.
The idea of pluralism is anathema to the rabid MAGAts and their leadership (I'm looking at you POS POTUS etal) but with the demographic changes occurring in America, multi-culturalism and diversity are the future. For example, it is projected that by 2044 or 2045, America will become the oxymoronic majority-minority nation.
The MAGAtverse is running scared because it has nothing to offer the people in the midterms but more of the same shit we've been putting up with for the past 20 months: higher prices on everything with no end in site; a narcissistic, lying and grifting POTUS who only cares about himself and who continues his vanity projects mostly unabated; an illegal, disastrous war with Iran that we are clearly losing; the evisceration of numerous programs that benefit millions of us; sending in ICE goons to invade our cities like an occupying army (headed by Dem mayors) who have murdered law-abiding citizens and deported people who are in our country legally; a compliant Legislative branch with no spine, etc.
It is my sincere hope that at this pivotal moment in our history, diversity and pluralism will triumph over bigotry, hatred and lawlessness.
Watch what you wish for. Change unfolds in unexpected ways, even for democracy!
