On another topic, I note today that Forbes Magazine has released its annual list of the world's billionaires, which included 400 more people than last year. Think about that. . .400 more BILLIONAIRES in the world today than at this time last year. The combined wealth of people on the Forbes list is $20.1 trillion--$4 TRILLION more than last year.
I'm all for people earning and building wealth--and doing it honestly--not through fraud. What I'm NOT for is people using that wealth to buy elections, to rig elections. Looking at you, Trump family and friends.
I am delighted to see the progress that is being made in Florida. Especially the fact that we’re hardly seeing unchallenged races anymore.
At the same time I’ve got to wonder: How in the world did Florida turn so Red and so MAGA? It used to be a closely-fought state, so what changed? Surely the Red shift was not just due to demographics? Or was it quite simply due to superior messaging by Republicans? I have a really hard time buying that as well.
How much of Florida moving away from us was due to the lackluster – or should I say longtime dysfunctional – state Democratic Party? While I realize we shouldn’t dwell too much on the past, this does deserve more analysis.

That said, I am absolutely delighted in seeing the results of the monumental efforts now being made by Nikki Fried, her party colleagues, and all the hard-working activists and volunteers!

The interviews give us the opportunity to meet the energetic people who are steering our party, as well as the candidates who are so brave and determined to bring values back to our government. Vibe shift report: My 23-year-old daughter's friend voted for Trump because of the economy. His parents are old-school Republicans, and voted for him three times, but the Iran situation has turned them from a dislike of Trump to a rabid hatred. Her friend has hated Trump for longer. Yay!

This is very encouraging and happy news! I reside in Sarasota County now, but I have also lived in 5 different areas of this very large state. And, I have been following Nikki Fried for quite awile. She also has been an excellent Chair for the Democratic Party. She gives me Hopium, that it is possible for things to change in this State. She is another "Ass-Kicking" Woman!
I’m a Florida native like Nikki Fried, a Miamian who graduated from the University of Florida. In fact, I grew up on Key Biscayne while it was Nixon’s winter White House; as a Girl Scout in junior high my troop was asked to come to Nixon’s helipad during Watergate to cheer for him, and I wore my Hubert Humphrey button. And didn’t cheer. 🤣 I’ve never left Florida, it’s my home, though I’m near Orlando now. I can’t explain the rightward shift beyond the huge influx of very rich conservative people from Up North and Texas (like Rick Scott) and elsewhere who took over while selling their bullshit stories of prosperity to the masses. I have to say that with Nikki Fried’s leadership I have hope again for my state. I’m all in on the audacious expansion fund.
