Self Report: I’ve gone to bat for a 4th grade boy named Martir Garcia Lara who was kidnapped by ICE from Southern California:

- Published an article about him on my Substack in which I tagged Simon and several other notable Substack authors I follow to spread the word: https://chrislyke9.substack.com/p/we-must-stop-trump-and-magas-war

- Contacted my Democrat senator here in Wisconsin and also Senators Schiff and Padilla in California about it

- Submitted letter to editor of my local paper

- Tried asking Indivisible to see what else can be done

on jan 6th everyone begged donny 2 dolls to bring in the national guard as the police were being brutally beat up and to save the lives of nancy pelosi and mike pence and others and restore order to the capitol bldg. but he didnt do it. now, in a blue state, in a liberal LA, without provocation he sends in the national guard w/o consulting with gov newsom and hegseth orders marines to be ready to go. so right wing crazy violence good. democratic protests bad. insurrection act coming. they just dont want to play that card until after the budget bill passes.

“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. Folks:

Democratic officials and progressive media need to SHOW THE JAN 6 INSURRECTION FOOTAGE WITH A CLOCK ON THE INACTION OF DOLOS. This is not hard to understand. Remember that he was POTUS during the January 2021 uprising.

Show the tape as a comparison to this LA episode. The rapid reaction time of Dolos for LA is interesting. Yes?

Remember that Dolos never got the National Guard to DC during the “Jan 6” event. I believe that it was the local governors that provided the support - especially from Maryland. Think of this as a form of intelligent contrast. It is curious that ICE never fully liaised with the local officials prior to their raids.

Get the word out to the international media as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9XczyZ3GHX4 . The world is watching, and they understand the “Program” that we are currently living through. Please share your thoughts.

CARTHAGO DELENDA EST (via nonviolence).

P.S. : Dolos or the nation, you can only have one! The other side must choose! The madness will only subside until the next urge for “narcissistic supply” arises. This is not 4-D chess. It is most likely a form of something else. The new media must promote mental health practitioners— like the MSM has lawyers and other professionals.

P.P.S.: Do the following now! FIRST, TEACH CIVICS. Second, register voters. THIRD, TEACH CIVICS. Rinse. Repeat.

P.P.P.S.: Every local office of the Democratic Party and of the elected officials (including state representatives on up) must become a site for civic teach-ins and a clearing house for needed services (with Federal departments being sabotaged). The fact is that Democrats believe in the value of government and of government service, and the other side (i.e. the MAGAts and the illiberals) simply doesn’t. This engagement process will make registering partisan voters and teaching civics much easier.

Good morning, Hopium community! Peri from the DNC here —

I'm reaching out with an exciting update:

The DNC launched a new daily program today called The Daily Blueprint! It premiered live on the DNC's YouTube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUzEevpIFtk

What is the Daily Blueprint?

Every morning at 10 AM ET on the DNC’s YouTube Channel, we’re hosting a brief, 10-15 minute broadcast to talk directly to our supporters about what they need to know today, what Republicans are up to, how Democrats are going on offense, and how folks can get involved.

I would love to hear your feedback!

-Peri

Hi Peri,

I posted this to a statewide FB group (NC) with 39K members and got 9 reactions, most of them angry faces. That's because a sensational picture and headline came up ("Medicaid on the Chopping Block!") when I posted the link. I would suggest having a logo come up instead. I don't think most of the people read my message about the daily posts -- they just saw Trump's face and the tagline and got mad. So I think it would be more effective to have a more descriptive message of the program come up when folks post the link.

I'll post it again, but maybe with the link embedded in the comments instead of in the post itself so that people actually read what I wrote and subscribe.

I highly recommend the Brian Tyler Cohen interview. Gov. Newsom is very clear that the actions of the regime are illegal and unconstitutional and that a lawsuit is coming.

I note that in David Sapp's letter for the Office of Governor Newsom he states that the unlawful manner in which the National Guard troops were deployed represents a "serious breach of state sovereignty."

Later today, in addition to my usual calls to my members of Congress, I'll also be calling our State Attorney General to urge him to support Attorney General Bonta in any way he can and to be prepared for an illegal deployment in Washington State. In addition, I'll call Gov. Bob Ferguson to urge him to be ready to protect protestors with our State's National Guard.

Historical note: The occupation of Boston by the King's troops only widened and hardened the resistance to his tyranny.

Excerpts from today's The Hartmann Report -

Trump is attacking the very same protests that are explicitly protected by our Constitution...

But Trump is taking it a step farther, giving Guard members the power to make arrests and point their guns at civilians, a clear and outrageous violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, enacted in 1878 in response to the violations of civil rights being perpetrated on civilians by the military during the post-Civil War occupation of the South…..

And let’s not pretend this is about safety. The same man who praised the “very fine people” who killed Heather Heyer when marching with torches in Charlottesville, who pardoned violent insurrectionists and murderers on January 6, who routinely echoes Hitler when he calls his political opponents “scum,” “animals,” and “vermin” does not care about public peace. He cares about control…..

And if Trump gets away with this like he did here in Portland in 2020, every new act of violence against the Constitution and people who disagree with him (Hegseth is now threatening to deploy Marines) will become less scandalous, more “normal,” and more likely to lead to the next crackdown…..

And then the state of emergency. And then the suspension of elections.

The time to speak out is now, not after Trump’s seized a dozen more cities and imprisoned thousands of us. Call your members of Congress, and I’ll see you in the streets next Saturday.

Pass it along.

Self Report June 8:

Miraculously, my raffle ticket allowing me to ask a question, was pulled out of the hopper at Congressman Mike Lawler's Town Hall.

Here is what I said:

Congressman Lawler, your oath of office requires you to promote the general welfare-as stated in the Preamble of our Constitution- but by voting for the recent reconciliation bill, you have abdicated your oath to protect and defend the values of our Democracy by giving me- a millionaire- a tax break on the backs of my friends and neighbors, my fellow Americans.

I don't need a tax break!

When the Bill comes back around to the House, remove the tax breaks for people who don't need them, and create a Bill that can help all Americans.

A loud applause followed, and Lawler's response was something about people having the option to pay higher taxes.

I could not hear any more of what he said because the crowd erupted into boo's, hisses and shouts that he was disrespecting me and my question.

I walked out of the packed high school auditorium a few minutes later, as Lawler answered a question about tRump calling out the national guard, saying that he defended that action.

The boo's were thunderous.

"House Democrats Challenge Trump’s Unconstitutional Birthright Citizenship Executive Order in Court

Washington, D.C. — On Friday, House Democrats’ Litigation and Rapid Response Task Force, remaining steadfast in their commitment to fighting against the Trump Administration’s illegal attacks on the constitutional principle of birthright citizenship, filed an amicus brief in the matter of Trump v. Casa, Inc., which is now before the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. The Trump Administration filed this appeal to overturn a nationwide preliminary injunction blocking the President’s attempt to change the constitutional right to birthright citizenship via executive order.

The amicus brief–signed by 170 House Democrats–provides overwhelming evidence that President Trump’s Executive Order violates the Constitution and over a century of Supreme Court rulings, as well as laws enacted by Congress. It also signifies the lawmakers’ commitment to defending birthright citizenship, following their amicus briefs filed in State of Washington v. Trump before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and in the Supreme Court cases Trump v. Washington, Trump v. CASA, Inc., and Trump v. New Jersey."

I call my elected representatives and message several Substack sites to promote an idea in keeping with comments you have made: the Dems need to push their ideas for governing into a strong platform. My suggestion: create your own budget highlighting protections for the safety net, promoting research, raise taxes on the rich, and so forth. Relentlessly promote the differences. Nothing better than to put one’s money where your mouth is.

Thus far, not one Congressional response, not even to tell me this is not a smart approach.
