Simon, I can't wait for you to come back well-rested and ready to hit it hard.

The update on the Biden-Harris focus on NC is heartening. I make a small monthly recurring contribution through Hopium to NCDC. (If all 50,000 of your subscribers followed suit, what a wonderful world it would be. I mean, come on, it's only eight months.)

I was VERY unhappy that the DSCC did not focus on Cheri Beasley's Senate race in 2022, a race that might have been won with a different strategy. A big mistake. That is one of the reasons I like donating through Hopium. I think entities like DSCC, DCCC and DNC do not adequately get the job done. Hopium combines focused money AND worker bees, and it makes a difference.

Thank you. Now let's get busy.

I too became deeply disappointed with the old guard D**** organizations. Their focus on fundraising and forcing the hand of young voters by backing candidates no longer in step with the changing tide resulted in losing the House majority by just a few votes. I believe we lost seats in NY that could have been decisively won. I'm inspired by Hopium and aspire to be an adept "info warrior". Making a monthly contribution to NCDC is part of that.

Cheri Beasley lost by a mere 3.2 %. Some faith and resources would likely have made a big difference – and probably won her the North Carolina Senate seat. Really, this was a needless sin of omission by the powers that be.

Simon-What do you think the damage of RFKjr will be to Biden? Getting concerned. Am in touch with people very close to him and every one is deeply concerned.

With every week, every special election victory, and every great headline-capturing measure from the Biden-Harris Campaign, I grow more and more confident of a Blue Tsunami this November!

As Simon says: "And they have Trump."

My take: "Trump’s redeeming characteristic is that his malevolence is tempered by massive incompetence."

Can you speak a moment (after vacation) about this Daily Beast podcast with Sargent and Brownstein, where they talk about Biden doing well with white voters but Trump has an overwhelming increase in support from non white voters? I don’t pay too much attention to polls at this early stage of the campaign and have little faith in them in general. I prefer to look at the elections in terms of what is happening in real time rather than raw horse race numbers as you talk about. Just curious what your take is….thx

Simon, I would like to see Jason Berlin of Field Team 6 on as a guest. FT6 is doing such an amazing job on a vitally important enterprise, and is so incredibly cost-effective. A Hopium fundraiser would go a long way towards meeting the goals we share with FT6.

Just watched a clip from MSNBC in which a Washington Post opinion editor Alexi McCammond claimed this election was much more like 2016 than 2020... As before, I disagree vehemently with this statement. The thing is.... there's one crucial difference from 8 years ago - we are organized, we are fired up, and we are more ready to vote everyday. I've said before and I'll say it again... There are so many interconnected activism networks (Hopium, Indivisible, Swing Left, Field Team 6, Crooked Media, The Lincoln Project, The Daily Beans amongst many others ) that did not exist in 2016. They exist, are active and ready to register people! Dream on Alexi!

No election is like any other. They are all unique. This is 2024, and folks to pay attention to what's happening this cycle, in this election, with these voters and not reference other ones.
