Internship: Content Production, Editing & Amplification
Location: Remote (must be based in the continental United States) | Schedule: Hours 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM ET, Monday–Friday. This is a fast-moving political media operation, so flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work is expected. | Duration: August 31, 2026 – December 4, 2026. 14 weeks, with the Labor Day and Thanksgiving holidays off. | Reports to: Lincoln Cooper, Research Assistant at Hopium Chronicles. Pay: $3,500 stipend = $250/week or internship credit (undergraduate/graduate students). We’re looking for an intern to join Simon’s small, high-output team for the fall stretch of the 2026 election cycle. The intern will work across two core areas:
1) Content Production & Video Editing (experience is helpful)
· Editing video footage, pulling clips from Simon’s interviews and live show events.
· Short production of YouTube content and other video assets.
· Transforming other raw video into polished, publishable content.
2) Social Media Amplification (experience is helpful)
· Packaging and distribution of content across social platforms to grow reach and engagement of Hopium Chronicles.
· Helping to identify and execute strategies to amplify Simon’s key interviews, race coverage, and daily live shows.
Our intern will gain access to:
Hopium Chronicles Streamyard recording studio.
Simon Rosenberg YouTube channel.
Hopium Chronicles Podcast: Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Hopium channels: Blue Sky, X, Instagram, Threads, and Tik Tok.
Preferred, but not required in applicants:
Political/campaign experience is preferred — prior work in politics, campaigns, or advocacy; you understand how this world operates
Basic video editing skills — comfort with editing software and turning raw footage into finished product
Social media fluency — real experience running or growing media presence on social platforms
Expected in applicants:
Belief in the mission — genuine familiarity with the Hopium Chronicles project and alignment with its ethos
Eagerness to learn — this is a fast-paced environment; curiosity and initiative are needed
