Sunny but chilly and windy today in Knoxville. The day is not perfect as democracy is not perfect. As I head to our No Kings rally, I think about the Ukrainians who fight for democracy despite bitter cold. And the Minnesotans, who fight for democracy despite the bitter cold. Their courage and commitment should inspire us all!!
Minnesotans are sort of used to the cold. I'd probably die if I went back. I think it says something about how dumb the DHS/ICE people are that they sent a bunch of guys from TX into that. Advantage: Minnesota.
Hi friends--As you all know, one of the many great things about No Kings is the signs (and other forms of messaging). In hopes of making every day a No Kings Day (or at least carrying the spirit of those signs and messages forward), I'm hoping to collect many of the best and convert them into stickers that can be posted online or off. If you see one you especially like, you can use the simple form below to send it to me--it supports both photos (which, of course, should be sent to Simon first) and descriptions (if you didn't bring your phone). It also contains a link to where the stickers will be posted as they're completed--thanks in advance for anything you can provide:
Good Morning! This afternoon (PDT) we will be lining El Camino Real (The Kings Highway in one translation, coincidentally) on the San Francisco Peninsula. At least 4 Indivisible chapters organizing. I’ll be out there with my inverted 3x5’ Stars and Stripes (yes, I’m VERY distressed) and a tally clicker on our stretch in Menlo Park - I’ve become a semi-official counter at numerous demonstrations (scientist compulsion…). Great to know that millions will be joining on solidarity!

This is also what "concerted action" looks like. Cites large and small across the US learning from each other how to more effectively combat ICE. It's exactly what Simon has been urging. Putting the energy of No Kings into concrete action and results.
Heading out for our Las Cruces NM No Kings in a few minutes. It officially starts at 10am Mountain Time. I helped two friends make signs yesterday who have never attended a No Kings before....one who has never been to any demonstration ever said "everyone I know will be there"...and she knows a lot of people! Have a Wonderful time out there today my dear Hopium Community!!

That’s my old congressional district. I would love to see Congressman Jimmy Panetta and his father Leon Panetta join your No Kings protests in Monterey. I’ve always thought Leon Panetta to be a man of total integrity, a true servant of the people, and a towering statesman.
In a recent interview, he said some utterly damning things about Trump’s strategically-misguided war against Iran and its even-worse execution.
Yup, Leon Panetta is a giant of ethical service to country and a true patriot. Decades ago, as a House Member before he was picked as Chief of Staff for the Clinton administration, he returned 1/3 of his salary to Treasury for a number of years because of the runaway deficit that was happening on his watch in Congress.

I'm so looking forward to this. I've been to other rallies in 2025 but in VT it is warm enough to do it all over again. If Minnesota can do it-I can! I think there will be over 10M protesters this time-I bet 12M. trump/GOP cannot continue this lawless, corrupt, violent, threatening, oppressive, incompetent Federal Government. We the People will not bend to their tactics. We are the soldiers and We must preserve the hope for a more perfect Union that so many before us defended-a law/order, Constitutional democratic republic with a Federal and 50 State governments. We are writing our history, preserving our freedoms and the Power of the People. Make your life count. Now is the Time.
