A few days ago, you mentioned that there are many virtuous people running for office. I was very glad to hear that.

It seems that over the past decade, we have lost touch with the importance of virtue. We have too often forgotten the value of truth, compassion, love, empathy, and integrity. These are qualities at the heart of nearly every religious and moral tradition, yet in recent years they seem to have been neglected—especially by much of our political leadership.

Perhaps the turmoil we are experiencing is the universe warning us: wake up and look at what is happening. We need to make important adjustments and return to the values that are the scaffolding of a healthy society: truth, compassion for our fellow human beings, empathy, integrity, and concern for something greater than material success or personal attention. Without these virtues a society will fall into decay, as we are seeing happen today.

I hope the conversation about restoring virtue in public life grows and becomes more mainstream. I have written a series of posts on Truth in America and another on finding leaders who seek purpose rather than power. I hope this conversation continues.

Joyce Vance and Timothy Snyder have a compelling conversation, covering a few topics about the time we are in and what we can do (and must) do. These two are really inspiring to listen to.

Take action is one thing we must do... and so now I am contributing to Bob Brooks to start the morning, then calling my MoCs about the Iran settlement negotiations and reasserting Congressional War Powers.

OK I gave $10 onetime to help out Brooks. Postcarding to Toledo OH later today.

Thanks everyone. Let's keep pushing and see this through to the end. We will defeat them.

One thing I think may be happening is that the concentration of wealth is resulting in too much power in a small number of hands to decide where our country is investing. If they get it wrong, we are all going to pay a price for it. It's not so easy to keep your 401K investment out of some shitty idea Musk has that might eventually tank.

Sending money to Brooks and calling calling....

This is great to see Trump losing in court on these various cases.

Another decision, I think from yesterday that was just posted by Michael Popok on Legal AF is the en-banc appellate review overturning the Trumpy appelate panel on criminal contempt hearings against the DOJ/DHS/Kristi Noem that Judge Boasberg has attempted and was blocked. This is the case from April 2025 when Boasberg ordered the plane to the El Salvador gulag prison to turn around. That one will start up again and the way Popok describes it, we may be on the path to seeing the first Trump official going to jail (which points to Noem) for criminal contempt of court.

Adding to all the above welcome news, the transition to clean energy is happening despite the regime's best (whatever that ever means) efforts! This is perhaps the most important thing we can do to fight climate change

"According to a recent report from the nonprofit Environmental Defense Fund and Atlas Public Policy, a record 79.7 GW of clean power is projected to come online in the US in 2026, even as roughly 8 GW of clean energy projects were canceled in the first quarter of the year."

I think Trump has also visited Rebecca Cooke's district, WI-03 (Chippewa Falls).

Made my Calls, and I think I will try to get some reading in, which I desperately want to. And I will look forward to the returns tonight!

Today is primary day in MD. I voted in Baltimore County to re-elect Governor Wes Moore, voted for Julian Jones and Sarah David (for Baltimore County Executive and Baltimore County DA) both endorsed by Moore. Alongside reelecting both Brooke Lieberman (Comptroller) and Anthony Brown (AG), here’s to progressing the great state of MD ✌️🙌.
