Yes, I am intrigued by Bobby Pulido, "The Quinceañera Candidate," and love "Desvelado!"

Here is a translation of the lyrics to his famous song. https://songlations.com/2013/11/06/bobby_pulido_desvelado/

It sure seems that this dummymander has backfired and instead it will serve Our Democracy well.

I'm hearing people say that as well about the district. I think this is a very promising candidate.

this is such an important discussion with a candidate who truly cares about the fortunes and daily concerns of the people of his district. His explanation of why those whose economic status is just above the poverty line and feel forgotten and resent being lumped with all Hispanics should be obvious. Not so to many. The subtleties needed to be learned and incorporated in each campaign by democrats. So similar to thinking all Spanish speaking citizens have the same concerns and outlooks.

As a fan of Texas music & culture, I could not be more excited about this candidate! I volunteered twice for Beto & I know we are SO close in the Lone Star state! Beto has been criss-crossing the state and registering folks w Powered X People, so many new voters will come online this cycle. Let's go! Just signed up to be a monthly donor to this crop of Hopium candidates!

Simon, I love Bobby Pulido and his Tijuana Music as well. I think he will Corral all those Texans in TX-15 without a problem! He loves what he's doing and I think the People will love him. Go Kick-Ass Bobby!

This is amazing! I love his approach and I am sure that he will win this district. He radiates joy and positivity, and that can't be faked. ¡Sí se puede!

For an exercise in contrasts, here is a NYT article on a Whites-Only community (I posted about it before). While likely illegal, and you might say, so, okay, let 'em live in their confined space because who wants to live there anyway, the point is they feel emboldened by the current Administration, and how many more shocks and frights can we absorb and allow these malignant illegalities to move into next generations?

I have never been a perfect person, but I've always known who I am and never had to search for an identity. These people have severe problems that mirror those of so many who have visited horror upon us for nearly a decade of Trumpism now.

We really are talking "cults" here.

Deborah, thank you for the translation of Bobby's song. Even though I understand and speak a little Italian and Spanish that is very helpful. Thank you. And yes, Dummymander has back fired and I hope it keeps happening!

Bobby Pulido's quinceañeras story was such a delight to read!

And so politically savvy! All the things Bobby says about when he goes to quinces he gets to talk to people that otherwise don't come to events, that they're already fed and have a drink in their hand, it's such good on-the-ground insight into people's mindset and how to open space for persuasion.

I also think it builds credibility because it is giving first. This famous singer says I'll give you a free show for your kid's quince just so I can talk to you and your friends and pitch you on voting for me.

That reverses the usual equation of "vote for me first and then I'll do this good stuff for you and your community", when so often those communities get left behind after the politician gets in office.

Just imagine what you would be saying to your friends if Beyonce or Bruce Springsteen offered to do a show at your birthday...

A truly excellent candidate!

Great candidate! Smart!

Hey Simon, you worked with Bill Richardson! Wow. That's special. He is missed. What a man.

The points Bobby Pulido is making are exactly the kinds of points which are going to win the elections for us! His focus on the people of his district is so heartwarming and obviously connects him in ways which we desperately need all across the country. What a grounded and clear candidate! And I love his confidence about flipping that district. Go Bobby!!!

Bobby is so right that the working middle class gets ignored too much, then feel resentment. Thank you for vocalizing that and reaching people who feel that way! Go Bobby!
