Such an amazing person and great candidate - so smart, so empathic, so caring about others, a person who genuinely wants to help others and understands very difficult and challenging health conditions and health insurance, and a paralympic hero no less! I am so impressed!
Why does it surprise you? We've got cabinet members with no experience in the office to which they were CONFIRMED. Why should candidates for elected office be any different?
What a breath of fresh air, thank you so much for this, Simon! Pitched in $150 in honor of the 150 days ahead that can change and shape our country, like Josh Turek said. I'm really loving donating to out of state races. I'm sitting here in Oregon with 2 responsible senators who I know are doing the right thing, so it's beyond inspiring to learn about this dream team taking shape across the country! I really value these interviews and introductions!
Hitting "Like" for this interview doesn't seem enough. There should be a "LOVE" button to click on. Already donated after he won the primary but will be sending more. I double-dog-dare the Rs to compare their candidates to ours. Accomplishments; empathy; ideas--we've cornered the market.
Thank you Simon for featuring Josh Turek. What a beautiful, strong, inspiring person and one of the new Democrats that represent the hope for a good future for the United States. He is truly special and I am proud to support him.
For anyone who wants to boost Democrats' chances in Iowa, there are two statewide postcard campaigns - Postcards to Swing States for GOTV and Field Team 6 for voter registration..
Even before the IA primaries, Postcards to Swing States (turnoutpac.org/postcards) included Iowa on their "swing state" list. Each state has its own postcard design, but the same three script choices are available for all campaigns - these are "battle-tested" messages that work best for the target audience - progressive-leaning but low-propensity voters. (FYI, there is one postcard design that is used for all the swing district campaigns).
They mail you the postcards for free (100 postcards minimum), but you are responsible for the postage. These postcards are "write and hold" to maximize the efficacy with low propensity voters. Each campaign has a mid-October mail date and a late-October mail date, with the earlier mail date cards distributed first. The mail date is clearly indicated in the instructions.
Field Team 6 (postcards.fieldteam6.org) has a new smallish campaign to recruit new voters in IA using scripts directed at electing Josh Turek. You can choose any one of 6 scripts contrasting what Turek would do to Trump/GOP policies that are hurting Iowans. Field team 6 has an easy-to-use, self-serve, postcard platform to download scripts and names and addresses. You can buy FT6 postcards online or use ones that you have made-yourself or bought elsewhere. You are also responsible for postage. These postcards are "mail as you write" to encourage people to register now!
Great! I think you need to write about 5 postcards per week to finish up before the mailing deadline.
I am in NC, so I am writing for NC to elect Roy Cooper. (I'm about half way through my first 100 for PTSS). But I did take a break and write 10 cards for the Iowa Field Team 6 campaign, because I was very impressed with Josh Turek's launch video. We definitely need more fighters like him.
Simon, What can we say about Josh Turek, except thank him for becoming the Candidate for Senator in IOWA!! He can inspire all of Us when we are down. Although, the HOPIUM Family is always Optimistic! I know Josh will kick the corrupt Ashley Hinson right out on her Seat!! Good luck Josh!
I was gonna make my donations this weekend, but didn't want to be a laggard since people are "hitting that button" by the time they finish watching the interview.
So, I made a modest donation to Josh, and then another to the entire Iowa campaign.

inspiring. those of us with stories over coming challenges. in my profession we call many of us as "wounded healers"
Dear Lord,
Please clone Josh Turek and dispatch copies of him throughout the US.
First time I've smiled -- really smiled, from a genuine happy place -- in days.
I will throw some extra $ his way this weekend.
Though Josh and his Dem colleagues have recently painted a dire picture of the state's quality of life, Iowans were given a gift in these candidates.
Here's hoping wisdom prevails!
Come back and talk to us soon!
Could not love this more. Amazing candidate, proud to support!
I'm sorry. Did you say that the 1 candidate is pulling a dr. oz...not live in the state and try to win? Ugh.
The maga candidate for Governor, Zach Lahn, is a carpetbagger living in Kansas. https://iowademocrats.org/2026/06/01/new-carpetbagger-zach-lahn-avoids-questions-about-living-in-kansas/

It doesn't surprise me. It disgusts me. Joyce Vance said there's someone in Alabama doing the same thing.
There just isn't any shame anymore.
Not in the GQP party. W, Adam Kinzinger and Liz CHeney were the last actual Republicans.

I was so inspired by the interview that I made my donation to Josh Turek right away. He's already scared maga, so let's scare them some more.

I wanted to use the word "love," but I thought people would roll their eyes at me.
Hahahaha! Go for it, BeeBee!

So far I have written five of my one hundred postcards to Iowa!

Makes me proud to be a Democrat!
He has that sweet Iowa strength! So much encouragement for success is coming from Iowa.

OMG! What a candidate!!!!! Thank you Simon.
Great interview. Great candidate. Donation made.

Hopiates keep me on my toes!
Fix Iowa first and then extend the lessons across the country!
