What just remains true is that the candidates with military backgrounds are just far more comfortable being in a sustained battle with others. It is what they were trained to do, and it shows up in their quiet confidence, smart planning, and focus on execution.
I want to emphasize here a comment I posted earlier in response to a lament that Ds are ineffective communicators and can't/don't inspire people, etc. Perhaps I can understand uninformed voters saying that, but I can't see how people watching these interviews with Hopium-endorsed candidates could reach that conclusion. They are an amazing collection of talented, committed, tough and just plain impressive people! Anyone watching or listening to them would have a hard time concluding they are weak or ineffective. I'm enjoying immensely the chance to get to know more about them and am proud to support them. Let's go! These are strong leaders!
Each time I have watched one of these interviews, I am not disappointed. They are informative and I get a sense of the candidate - makes them more relatable. Actually, all the live interviews I have watched have been like that for me.
I am fascinated by the emergence of all these mid/late career retired military folks running for office. Most seem just great -- and likely tough enough to survive a campaign. Are the Reps also getting candidates with these qualifications? After all, very very few people in these age cohorts served.
Great candidate! Just donated. These candidate interviews are very helpful and last night’s video was so helpful in understanding more of the reality of political campaigns. Now I understand why the Indiana Democratic Party is so weak
Ditto to so many other comments. She is a wonderful candidate, and comes across as so genuine, smart, down to earth, no nonsense. She reminds me of a friend who is a graduate of the naval academy, currently commanding a ship based in San Diego. This woman is powerful. She’s someone I absolutely trust and would definitely NOT want as an opponent. Military training can nurture such strong and capable leaders.
Thanks for bringing these new and YOUNGER candidates Simon!
She is a terrific candidate.

Absolutely we need fighters and real life experience that will represent the love of democracy we have

Great point. ie Mikie Sherrill, Elissa Slotkin, Abigail Spanberger…
Rebecca Bennett is a Sweetheart and has quite a Bio! She is great and Will Kick-Ass and Win her seat in NJ-7!
Agree!
Wow, what a great person and candidate! Thanks for the introduction, happy to contribute.
Rebecca Bennett is terrific! Great interview.
Great candidate! Donated.
I previously canvassed for Malinowski in this district. I am in NJ 12 but near the line of NJ 7. So I know how important this win is.
Kean, Jr is doing zilch for NJ.
Go Rebecca! Yay Hopium.
She looks like a great candidate! I kicked in a little bit.

It's so nice to have all these amazing candidates that also come across as just decent, normal human beings!!
That's got to count for something, right?
Rebecca Bennett is so impressive, an American Shero. I proudly made a contribution to her campaign to help NJ-07 "go blue."
Wonderful candidate. Donated!

She seems like a wonderful candidate. Just contributed to her victory.
My God this is an amazing candidate. What a broad and accomplished background.
She's a desert island gal: If you were stuck on a desert island and could only take one person with you - that would be Rebecca Bennett.
Just sent her some $.
Stay Strong, Rebecca!
I've contributed, but I don't understand how that can help her so close to the primary date. What does new money get used for at that point?
everything
Sorry I'm so ignorant about campaigns. I guess they spend ahead and hope for the best. Maybe we'll be part of the best they were hoping for.

I will proudly contribute to Rebecca’s campaign!
