Such a great interview, love Anderson! Very proud donor to NC fund over the years, and so pleased to see it paying off! I will switch my monthly donations to our funds once NJ elex season is over and Mikie has won! This is such great work, and I really hope we can replicate what Anderson has done!

Keep gong!

Simon, will you please ask your guests what local food pantries/homeless shelters one can donate to, and what the best financial way is to help? Thanks.

We need more people like her. If we can't find them, we should figure out how to clone her.

I think they are out there. We'll see more of them step up as the Trump regime tightens its desperate and arrogant grip on public life. We need the fighting spirit of youth. While MAGA has its youthful adherents, hate and cruelty cannot inspire allegiance long-term.

Simon, look at places like Louisiana, and Mississippi. We don’t have to send a great deal money, and they are places which are heavily democratic.. That makes a lot of sense.

I love Anderson Clayton--her intelligence, dedication, and her energy. I observed something while watching this. During this interview, I saw Anderson Clayton's eyes express the same sorrow, anger, and determination that I felt from so many folks at the NO KINGS III protest. People are joyous and smiling, but they are also completely pissed off and ready to fight against the injustices they see around them daily. People are not giving up. People are not hopeless. People are pissed.

Anderson’s detailed knowledge, leadership skills and connection to the people in her orbit, combined with her enthusiasm? All I can say is we need you cloned. In the meantime, a THANK YOU! will have to suffice. Simon, please bring Anderson back more often.

Millie Polli Haskell....Reporting-first, Simon, I am so sorry, I have to catch up on your Posts...I had a wonderful interruption of Mia Famigila from Milano and Trieste! I probably will be busy for quite a few days?? I did catch the conversation with Anderson Clayton. As I said before, She is an Ass kicking great person! I heard through Garrett's post that that Bovina, will now be in charge of the Border Patrol, heaven help Us. I did get a chance to call Sen. Scott and Rep. Luna, and read them Our FOUR PART AGENDA! I told them both, forget your Position's and realize what is happening to our Country, if you are a Patriot???

Dear Simon, while Mamdani is very popular in NYC, is likely to win the mayoral race, and is making significant inroads with younger voters…due to the nature of the America’s capitalist system, and the fact that the majority of the population is center left socially and center right fiscally, some Dem voters and commentators (most notably Stephen A Smith) warn that should the party ‘become more like Mamdani’ so to speak, we won’t have strong chances of winning future elections, trying to sway the Independent/Swing vote which is arguably the largest growi by voting bloc in the nation. I personally think it’s premature to make that assessment and feel while NYC will always be a political hot spot, it’s not representative of the entire nation nor either party. Nevertheless, do you have any insight on how Mamdani’s potential success will ultimately help or complicate the future for the party? Also, amazing on the senate repealing the tarriffs! That’s a Big deal!

The party can be inclusive enough to have Mamdani AND people who will win in more conservative areas. I think some takeaways for the party in general are:

- younger

- authentic

- great communication skills

- social media savvy

I agree with that and feel when all said and done, that will ultimately prevail in our favor (that wide spectrum inclusion). Meantime, I feel the party will also be wise enough to counterbalance and hold onto more seasoned figures who still both resonate with the party and are effective in the party, line Cooper for NC, possibly Mills in ME, or Brown (OH), and of course both Newsom and Harris, who both fit with the Shapiro, Pete, Pritzker, Moore, Whitmer, Hochul, Beshear group of leaders. Not to mention of course the aged gap prowess the pair of both AOC and Bernie continue to bring…even to unassuming rural voting areas. The pressure will come from MAGA attempting to control the party’s narrative. More than ever, we CANNOT let them!

i would recommend daniel drezner's take; nyc mayor does not generally mean much nationally, and doesn't serve as a jumping off point for higher office. i'd also check the atlantic article which shows he is not that popular outside nyc; he's not even that popular right here in nj. stephen smith has a big mouth, and he should shut it. never liked the guy.

Mamdani is the only thing Trump has going for him… that being said, it’s just one mayor. Good to luck to him, not a big deal outside NYC IMO

Folks:

I’ve often mentioned that we are dealing with old ghosts in our present. Here is a great interview with two brilliant lawyers, STACEY ABRAMS AND KATIE PHANG (timestamps - 7:36, 8:06, 8:35, 9:10, 9:39*, 10:11, 10:33, 11:16, 12:09, 13:03, 13:36, 14:17, 15:02, 17:12, 18:34, 20:07, 21:39, 22:23, 23:10**, 24:46*, 25:44, and 26:46*): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zp4mmhbhAmc . There is a great deal of wisdom in their dialogue.

Also, Ms. Abrams supports Anderson Clayton’s assertion that some of us have seen this moment in earlier times. As I’ve shared previously, Stacey Abrams explains that authoritarianism is just a means to a very dark and specific end (more on this destination tomorrow). So, Black women voters were 92% for VP Harris because the “stakes” were their own history and lived experience (i.e. John Roberts has had many names in their past). We must always remember the 90 million nonvoters who opted out last November.

CARTHAGO DELENDA EST (via nonviolence).

P.S.: Do the following now! FIRST, TEACH CIVICS. Second, register voters. THIRD, TEACH CIVICS. Rinse. Repeat.

Self-reporting - made donations to Mikie Sherrill, Abigail Spanberger, the Audacious Expansion fund and NC Democratic Party - a few days before the election where a few dollars might come in handy.

The interview with Anderson Clayton was such a shot in the arm. She is so amazing!

And great news on the Senate voting to remove tariffs on Brazil!

Hope to see a lot more of this!
