Thank you for sharing this interview, Simon - very impactful. Reminds me of what my grandparents - and my father - went through in Munich, Germany in the 1920's and 1930's as Hitler and the Nazis slowly swallowed Germany. This is how it begins. We need to stay Aware. I again, suggest people rent the film "Cabaret". Yes, it was a broadway musical from a book but my father - who left Germany in 1927 - said it was the best depiction of the period he had seen. And, like the German citizens, this is happening before our eyes and it may soon be too late to stop it. Thank you for what you do!
Also, Stoppard's final work (at least the last new production of his lifetime), "Leopoldstadt," which follows a Viennese family over generations, blending Jews and non-Jews, in which some of the Jews believe their assimilated engagement with Viennese society will shield them from what's to come.
Thank you and BeeBee both for you Holocaust comments. I teach the Holocaust to college students and I love the art from this period. I'm familiar with Cabaret both through productions but also reading all Chris Isherwood's books. But I don't know Leopoldstad that Beebee mentioned.
Simon, Delia Ramirez is definitely a very important part of our Congress. The stories she told of all the children are heartbreaking. She speaks with such knowledge because she's living it.
This has become a horror story. I hope something will be done with the Melt ICE BILL. Enough is Enough!
Thank you Simon for this fantastic interview with Rep Delia Ramirez. So inspiring to hear a Rep not sugar coating the truth. I appreciate her leadership and courage!
I am so proud of Representative Ramirez as an Illinois resident and a fellow human being. I'm not from her district, but she is a bold, smart, strong woman who will not give up on the causes she is passionate about. I'm also really grateful for her point of view, and this is why we need a Congress full of a very diverse mixture of people of all ages to open all the multiple fronts we need to tackle.
What a STRONG and truthful interview with Rep. Delia Ramirez. Let's do everything we can to support her "Melt ICE" bill, to oust or impeach Noem, and to dismantle the ICE funding even if it somehow went through the Big Ugly Bill. We can do more than wait for the next government shut-down! And as she ended, she reminds us that WHEN we gain the majority of the Congress again, we MUST reform immigration once and for all and stop passing this issue along. Thanks, Simon, for this guest interview; I will hold it in my heart. Hello from Minnesota.
Really excited to see Meidas Touch and MoveOn are hosting an alternative people's state of the union at 8:30 p.m. EST on Meidas' YouTube channel next Tuesday. Speakers include several Senators and Representatives, hosted by Joy Reid and Katie Phang. I'm watching this instead of being lied to and endless juvenile trolling for an hour straight.

Some Dems plan on skipping SOTU address.
To me, if you skip it, you are giving in to Trump and his republican Nazis. We have to Show Up and Stand Up.
Let's call our Dem reps. It should be ALL of them skipping the lie fest. Hold a press conference on the Capitol steps instead.
Encourage them to join Meidas Touch and Move On's YouTube event on the mall
OMG thank you! What a fantastic interview, and what a remarkable member of Congress! I am speechless.
Isn't she fantastic, Lisa? I am so proud of her and share her passion and values.
I am waiting to completely clear my head before I watch this interview because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Rep Ramirez!

The conduct of DHS and ICE is unconscionable.
Simon, pls link Ramirez's examples of generational trauma to Jewish children who survived the Holocaust. Today, a lot MOBs who should "get it," don't.
SUCH A GREAT INTERVIEW. THANK YOU!

Here, here, Kent!
Dare I say we just witnessed a Congresswoman dispaying presidential gravitas?
