Rep. Garcia has been a real bulldog on this and it's clear he will not back down (nor will other Ds on the Oversight Committee). Thanks to them all. And to Sen. Wyden, who has been tracking the dirty Epstein financial web for years. A previous NYT article described in more detail the JP Morgan Chase withholding of Epstein-related SARS for years in order to curry favor with him and have him continue to refer clients to the bank. Really dirty stuff, and that bank SHOULD be investigated for its complicity.
I’m reading Nobody’s Girl, which is very moving. So I care deeply about the survivors. But from the little I know, the Epstein story seems to suggest a significant criminal enterprise. I really like the interview with Robert Garcia. I’m not sure when we will understand this, but it will come out, sooner or later.
As I recall, Rep. Summer Lee was the person who was able to force the subcommittee vote. She is an excellent progressive advocate from the Pittsburgh area. Would love to hear from her!
Every single time I listen to Representative Garcia I wonder why he is not the minority Speaker of the House. He is so direct, and that is what we need to hear. A couple weeks ago I heard him tell Mike Johnson he is protecting pedophiles, then he repeated it to make the point. No backing down. He is always crystal clear in his communications, and I'm grateful for his efforts on behalf of the victims of Epstein, and his work with Massey to get this bill passed, and OH YES!, that oh so strategic timing of getting the Epstein estate emails out to the public.
Thanks to Congressman Garcia for being so thorough and speaking about things the public needs to know. This whole scheme wasn't just about sex trafficking, and ruining the lives of over 1,000 young women, it was a global scheme to launder money, go to the Kremlin, and influence elections here.
In addition, we are reminded that there is a bunker underneath the White House that was used by Bush after 9/11 and supposedly used by djt during the Me Too movement. There is talk that in order to stay out of jail djt conjured up this idea of expanding the bunker underneath this ridiculous ballroom, where he could live with his existing supporters, and escape prosecution again. There was no need to demolish part of the west wing, it was another act of a madman. If Congress must start doing it's job and stop this building of a ballroom, but use the demolished space as new offices for the people who work at the White House without any vulgar gold incorporated into the architecture, the members of Congress will have done something worthwhile.
Trump hiding in a bunker during metoo is a delightfully comic image.
Thank you so much for this incredibly timely and informative interview, Simon. Your warning about what happened with Mueller is apt, but in this case I also desperately want justice for these woman. It must be traumatizing every day to see these men who abused them maintain their positions of power, wealth, and influence.
I feel like if this were possible, they would have done it already. Months ago. If they could have put an end to it, all they needed to do was announce TRANSPARENCY DAY, release scrubbed files, and then go on having wet dreams about starving people to death.
I wonder if, in generating their subpoenas, if they already have access to inventories of the evidence that are complete. I have seen documents like that floating around. They may already have an inventory that gives them some kind of a roadmap, which might also lead them to other individuals who have access to relevant records.
I wonder if they already have an inventory of what materials exist that is complete.
For example, the emails subpoenaed from the Epstein estate.
Then, possibly, even if DOJ does without materials, they might be found from other sources, if you have a roadmap telling you where you might look.
It sounds like a tremendous amount of work. Hopefully they are staffed up to do it.
Just called Rep. Garcia’s office and thanked him. What an impressive congressman. I feel better about the ultimate release of the entirety of the Epstein files after watching this very timely interview - thank you Simon!
One of the things these awesome interviews do for me, Simon, is to make me so proud and hopeful seeing and hearing all these hard-working ethical Dems who are younger than me. We are so blessed as a party to have the groundswell of younger politicians who all have fantastic careers ahead of them. For every one of the ugly people in the administration, we seem to have 5 smart effective Dems working hard to neuter them.
I have to say, I love it when you throw in a well-timed "LOLOLOL." It's always appropriate and called for. I am here for petty Simon!!!!!
Good of you to ask him about Russia, Simon. Robert Garcia is excellent
Yes, I totally agree! And the Nee York Times should remove Ehud Barak from speaking at their book festival because of what he did to Virginia.

They are in for it with Wyden, Warren & Whitehouse on the case.

Great interview with a great American patriot. Glad to hear they are looking at the connection between Epstein and Putin.
Thank you for the recharge.

Yes and they are busily scrubbing the files right now, at least to remove names of Rs.

Trump's actions should tell you the Kremlin, Putin, control him. What consequences for Trump?

🌟📱🇺🇸 “The Brigade of the Bright”
In a town full of chatter, confusion, and spin,
Where the truth had grown tired and light had grown thin,
A warm little flicker began to ignite—
The grandparents gathered to turn on the light.
With glasses pushed up and their phones fully charged,
They marched into timelines where lies felt so large.
They reshared the truth with a tap and a smile,
Turning dim little posts into beams set to dial.
They boosted the watchdogs who dig through the schemes,
The Indy reporters with courage and dreams.
“Transparency matters!” the grandmas declared,
As they shared every fact that the truth-seekers shared.
Grandpas commented boldly, “Please watch this, my friend!”
“Democracy needs us—so share it again!”
With every repost came a sparkle so bright
That darkness retreated and ran from the light.
They outshined misinformation with honest good cheer,
They lifted up voices that leaders must hear.
Each comment was lantern-like glowing so wide,
A signal that truth had a whole brigade beside.
From Meidas to Bulwark, from Schmidt to the rest,
They amplified stories that journaled the best.
They typed with precision, they tapped with delight—
These grandparents fought
with the power of light.
So honor this army of phone-wielding sages,
Who stand firm for truth in the most troubled ages.
They brighten the country with justice and heart—
They’re proof that the elders
still carry the spark.
