I don't know how far this will go, but un-fucking this situation is not going to be easy. I also think Iran, if left alone, will rush to a low-yield nuclear weapon now. And they might use it, or Israel might pre-empt them. This is very serious. Ballistic missiles are hitting Israel now.
Hegseth seems to equate blowing things up with a strategic or political success. It just doesn't work that way. I don't have any special insight into these things but even I know that. You don't trot out "stuff we blew up today" as a reason to conclude we are "winning". They haven't even articulated what success looks like, maybe not even to themselves, but if there isn't a long-term political objective, I don't know what the fuck we are doing.

I'm glad Congress is going home for a break. First, every day they don't pass the SAVE Act gets us closer to the point when we're too close to the election for them to implement it. Second, I'm hoping a few more of the Republicans decide it's time to retire. Some time at home talking to constituents just might do that.
I called my congressman and senators to say NO more funding for ICE or this war. I also said that I want them to begin regularly discussing Trump's mental decline which was on view in yesterday's cabinet meeting. I'm writing postcards to Virginia voters about redistricting.
This means the Rs did not get funding for ICE. However, the Ds did not get the proposed restrictions on ICE - exposed faces- no masks, carry IDs and leave law enforcement of American citizens to local police, Correct? This is a question.

From what I understand Taco Trump is going to sign an executive order to pay for TSA funding so that airports will normalize. Still unclear if ICE will be milling around.
I am pumped for No Kings in Freehold, NJ (Bruce's hometown!) tomorrow and will wear my red Moms Demand shirt to spread the gun safety message! Mr. S. was here rehearsing most of last week and through yesterday, and is traveling to MN to perform on Sat. and start the Land of Hope & Dreams/No Kings tour on Tuesday.
