My New Interview with Reed Galen Of The Lincoln Project - My discussion with Reed Galen this week was one of the most comprehensive and interesting political discussions I’ve had this year. Will be a great weekend listen. Reed is a very smart guy and appreciated the opportunity to air out the big stuff with him. Here’s their writeup on our coversation:
Host Reed Galen is joined by Simon Rosenberg, the Veteran Political Analyst, Strategist and Commentator. They discuss why it's so important for Democrats to continue spotlighting the accomplishments of President Joe Biden, why the current brand of the GOP is such a tough sell to the American people, and why Republicans continue to threaten a government shutdown when they’ve never ended well. Plus, we’re witnessing the GOP being infected with a new strain of MAGA. To keep up with all things Simon Rosenberg, be sure to subscribe to his Substack newsletter, Hopium Chronicles.
Enjoy!
The Biden SuperPAC Launches Ads in 6 States - The Biden SuperPAC, Future Forward USA Action, along with the organization Climate Power, have launched a new ad campaign to complement the ads the Biden campaign itself is running. These have gone up in six states - AZ, GA, MI, NV, PA, WI - and are a substantial buy. You can watch one of the ads running in PA here, and catch one of their climate focused ads below.
I am going to work hard to keep our community aware of the big ad campaigns launched by the candidates, SuperPACs and parties. Ad campaigns with this much money behind them test their ads and messages, so we know they work. For those info warriors in our community, it’s important to study these ads, learn how the campaigns are talking about the big issues, try to incorporate the narratives, phrases and data into how you communicate with others. These are the images and messages being heard by voters, and it is important we understand and amplify them in our work, together.
From the FDR Memorial - Sharing one of my favorite quotes from the FDR Memorial in DC. Speakers powerfully to our current moment too.
Keep working hard all - Simon
Every time I listen to you being interviewed on a podcast, I feel more hopeful, more heard, more validated in feeling so frustrated with the same old tired political narrative that hasn’t changed about our politics; this in spite of the reality of the very very precarious time in which we currently live. You are a golden voice, and I wish there were more like you who can explain so accurately why I can no longer listen to the stale old explanations of our politics that no longer apply to our reality.
Keep doing what you’re doing, please.
Great ads! I think I see the hidden order in the chaos.....we’ll never be able to make the main conversation about Joe Biden’s impressive accomplishments because the media will continue to be addicted to the Donald Trump Circus/Soap Opera/Game Show/Reality Program......but if we just answer every goddamn question with, “That’s why I’m so excited by and proud of President Biden’s record investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, a local supply chain, and clean energy.....it’s created so many jobs we can’t even fill them all and it’s driving up wages and lowering healthcare costs!”, we can win over a few more inches of support....and every inch we gain lowers their support in equal measure.....doesn’t take very many inches to go from a squeaker to an ass kicking....we just need the discipline to focus on what’s great about Joe Biden and not get sucked into only talking about what’s terrible about MAGA.....it doesn’t need to be the whole conversation but we have to ensure that it is always “part” of the conversation 👍
