Some Notes on the Biden Economic Speech, Winning the Big Economic Argument This Year
Joe Biden has been a good President. The country is better off. And we are making investments that will drive growth for decades to come. Loud and proud people!
Friends, here we are. The big economic debate we’ve been preparing for has begun in earnest. The President’s new articulation of his economic strategy has three core planks:
Making smart public investments in America
Empowering and educating workers to grow the middle class
Promoting competition to lower costs and help entrepreneurs and small businesses thrive
Get to know this framework. It is the core of the President’s big, emerging argument.

And why do I believe that getting our economic story out there is the highest narrative priority for Democrats this year? Look at this new graph from the Navigator team, below. It shows that even though the last 3 GOP Presidents brought recessions, higher deficits and American decline, and the last 3 Dem Presidents have brought strong growth, lower deficits and American progress, the Republicans are still trusted more on the economy. We need to change that, this year, together, fellow info warriors. The facts and data are with us, we just need to do our part now in helping the President make this important case to the American people this year. To me, other than launching a national youth voter registration drive, there is no more important work we can do this year to make the election the election we want next year.
Loud and proud people. Joe Biden has been a good President. The country is better off. The Democratic Party is strong. Let’s go sell our successes, hard, together - Simon
Simon, you are so right....we MUST change the narrative. I sound like a broken record but the 'MSM" continues to promote the dissatisfaction of the people regarding the economy rather than tell the truth about it. Again, GMA showed some poll (not sure which) which said only about 20% or so thought we had a good economy. What will it take to get them on board with the truth?
Echoing what Annette D (Land O Lakes, FL) writes...I am fed up with MSM coverage of the Biden administration. Right now, I follow you (Thank you, Simon, for your economic updates and positive messaging advice) and The Meidas Touch Network (for their humor-laced "set-the-record-straight" political and fantastic legal coverage). Is there any hope that any of the MSM channels will change their negative click-bait approach? Just one might start a chain reaction.
