To flowers on Sunday. To all of us: a rest for just these few hours. We've earned them, gosh darn it.

Putting politics aside is healthy ...it's like putting on your oxygen mask before your child's....

on my walk this morning I am aiming to find ways to hold our elected ones accountable with compassion because I do not want to loose myself in this fight. It is spring green in Santa Fe

"Labor’s clean sweep in Australian election suggests young male voters are bucking global trends. But why?"

On Mother’s Day, it seems appropriate to point out this great article on gender, voting patterns and elections. The fascinating analysis includes thoughts on the Murdoch press, which is very active in Australia. (After all, Rupert Murdoch is Australian!) Some really interesting observations also in the Comments. Worth noting: Australia has compulsory voting.

(Ok, I’m guilty of not entirely putting politics aside. Please forgive me, but I found this to be a deeply encouraging article!)

I guess she is a good representation of the people of her district. For some reason, the Republicans didn’t want her running against Jon Ossoff. Can you imagine those debates?

A Mother’s Day photo

Here is Dorothea Lange’s powerful photo of a migrant mother and her children.

Happy Mothers' Day Simon and family, and everyone! I celebrated yesterday (along with about 500 others) with a demonstration against Elise Stefanik in Bethlehem, NY. Very rewarding.
