We have to expect it. Our mission is to degrade him and continue to reveal to the American public just how weak he is, how wounded he is, how incompetent he is, how crazy he is, how demented he is, how corrupt he is.

His pattern and strategy is to constantly change the subject from the current failure, and start the next news cycle with a new scandal or outrage... a new shiny object.

But silence is complicity. We have to keep pressing, and have faith that he will crumble, that the public will rise to reject him, and that we will prevail.

I don't see any other pathway to get to the other side of this.

The orange one spends all his time psychically wounded. Musk publicly broke up with him, people in his circle keep leaking information or quitting, his poll numbers are always low, his birthday party was pathetic, other countries didn’t beg him for deals on the tariffs. He whines all the time that he is treated worse than anyone ever. Even by Faux News.

He IS very dangerous because he somehow got back in the White House. But he has been threatening (and causing) violence for years now. I feel like we are all very much on guard, and already doing everything we can think of.

Even though the Epstein files is small potatoes compared to the other damaging things this administration has done, we should absolutely put our efforts into throwing this conspiracy theory back into trump and MAGA's face. It might sound trivial to those not hanging out on social media, but it's not an understatement to say that a significant portion of the MAGA base and the low political info voter has built their entire identity around "trump as the savior coming to stop the deep state pedophilia ring run by the democrats, you'll see." That's gone now AND by someone on their own team makes it even BETTER.

Bondi has essentially deprived MAGA of one of their biggest conspiracy theories that they have repeatedly weaponized against democrats and used in 2024 to get votes. Whether there is a client list or not doesn't matter, who cares- I say we use their tiresome conspiracy theories against them. Ro Khanna has the right idea in bringing this up for the record. I say instead of constantly refuting their conspiracy theory nonsense by countering with facts (most of which are ignored anyhow), we roll with it and call their bluff by insisting they present their evidence in a series of hearings with them sworn in to testify to settle this once and for all: for Epstein, 2020 "election fraud," and weather manipulation- one hearing for each conspiracy. They want the attention and the evidence to come to light that they've been posting about 24/7? Well, there's no better way than in a televised hearing with presenters being sworn in. I have a feeling the evidence would fail to materialize under those conditions.

I just posted about this here. We have got to capitalize on this by demanding that there be a series of official hearings with those who have "evidence" to present it under oath, not just Epstein, but "2020 election fraud" and weather manipulation. Call their bluff and use their conspiracy theories against them.

I think we should focus on Epstein but not these other conspiracies. There is some meat on this bone. There are tens of thousands of pages accumulated over the last 15 plus years (Epstein settled a Florida case in 2008) Bulwark has an intereview today with Julie Brown of Miami Herald who did groundbreaking investigative report in 2017. Good perspective on real crimes that have been suppressed.

I agree. The others are wacko conspiracy theories that actually serve to distract from real issues . Epstein trafficked hundreds of girls and is close with Trump, who has had people in his administrations that helped Epstein get off. To me, this isn't a conspiracy--if there's evidence that the president of the united states was raping young girls, well, I think we want to see that.

I’ll do anything to draw attention to this regime’s lying, even if tRump’s lies regarding Epstein don’t even make it into my own list of his 100 most horrible lies.

We are building communities of hatred toward the U.S. around the world. How do those families in Africa and other countries  who relied on USAID for medical care feel about America after the life saving  care was taken away? How do the families of those immigrants feel after their innocent loved ones were torn away from them unlawfully and deported , as well as the innocents sitting in GOOLOG prisons unlawfully, with no ability to communicate or get representation. Every day their hatred towards us grows. How do the families in Ukraine feel after fighting so hard to survive to learn the US is no longer on their side but on the side of a War Criminal like PUTIN, or the people in Gaza with a possibility of being pushed out so some millionaire can build Hotels with Gold Toilets. How do our close neighbors in Canada feel when their economy  which is tied so closely to ours is wrecked on the whims of a president and his TARIFFS  and  changing the rules. THIS ADMINISTRATION is CREATING HATRED FOR AMERICA AROUND THE WORLD, WHERE ONCE THERE WAS ADMIRATION.

So much going on, so many ways to get involved. Here's another opportunity for action that's somewhat urgent.

This week, the House of Representatives is due to vote on the so-called Genius Act, which establishes the first federal framework for stable coins. The stakes are high because the legislation will give the industry the momentum to grow more rapidly. (Note: The bill passed the Senate on June 17, 2025, with a 68-30 bipartisan vote.)

On Wednesday, July 16, Partners for Democracy is offering a one-hour webinar designed to be a primer on cryptocurrency -- what it is and what it isn’t. The webinar is for non-experts and features speakers with deep experience in the field. https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/ev/reg/hxg27tk/lp/c92db88a-7fae-4ed7-875a-a38561bb333c?source_id=0cb737a2-51ac-4dc0-b531-bb4c26b47268&source_type=em&c=

The timing is important - the Senate has already acted and the House is rushing to enact its own bill during “Crypto Week”. These bills purport to regulate this rapidly evolving industry but they are being highly influenced by those with a direct financial stake.

Dems must get more concise, pithier. When you call it a simple agenda and then leave 6 or more items, its no longer a simple agenda. Plus, as crazed and unsavory as it all seems, Dems would be crazy to not be exploiting the Epstein controversy. If Dems want to command some of the new media, have to seize these chances.

OK. Reining in ICE is fine, but not to go on "It violates Constitutional norms." That's the pedantic professor party. Say, "Stop putting on masks and deporting my neighbor!" Or "Stop beating up the parents of marines." Ossoff on the Epstein files was great, "Why would you think a sexual predator in the WH would hide the Epstein files?" 5 topics may actually be fine, even more --I dont know--but can only talk about 2 at a time, I think.

As GenX I’m hoping the DNC will prioritize younger louder voices. The “establishment” Dems need to back off as they’re stuck in 90’s “safe” political mode. Kennedy and Clinton were young when he ran for office, as was Obama. Our best presidents WERE young and energetic! We need to show we are the opposite of Trump in every way. Not corrupt old politicians.. young, energetic, and hopeful!

Expand full comment
Simon Rosenberg's avatar

With respect the "establishment Dems" are not going to back off nor should they. We need everyone doing their part, being as loud as they can. Yes we can do a better job promoting next gen voices - as we do here - but the idea of parts of our coalition backing off or being quiet is not a good idea.

Atl🔅Av8r's avatar

Establishment Dems meaning the Dems like those who spend more time being critical of Mamdani (who I don’t necessarily agree with on everything) than recognizing that his methods are what most Dems crave, whether or not they agree with his policies. Or the Establishment Dems whose answer to P2025 is a flat “P2028” or writing a “stern letter”. The Dems in positions of power who don’t say enough. It’s frustrating.

Just want you to know we don't really see the world that way here. We see our broad family as playing different positions on the same team; we spend our time focused on the true problem - Trump and MAGA - and not on the disagreements we have with folks in our family; we are not frustrated or disappointed but determined and committed. In a broad coalition like ours we will disagree with one another on strategy, tactics, vales - all of it - but we need to hang together or we hang separately. That's I try to help this community orient as we together we stay focused on taking the next hill and continuing to grow the circle of defiance against Trump and strengthen our movement. Thanks for being here. Let's working hard, together - Simon

Can I suggest other wording? I'd say to prioritize and appreciate every voice, no matter their age, that does far-reaching outreach (speeches, media, any mode), compelling advocacy, high credibility research, creative solutions, and various combinations. My excellent senators are Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey. Nobody should (or could!) ask them to be quieter. Nextdoor in different directions are Sheldon Whitehouse and Bernie Sanders. I'm a huge fan of Maxwell Frost, Eric Swalwell, Pramila Jayapal, Jim McGovern, Jamie Raskin, Hakeem Jeffries, and so many more who came to mind when I wrote the earlier sentence.

My own Rep is not living up to what's needed of him now, but that doesn't make him "establishment." He's been in for 23 years and still hasn't earned his colleagues' respect (lost the vote to chair Oversight by a lot). Though Simon's team metaphor keeps us focused on the real enemies, I'd say my Rep tests the limits of the metaphor, since he doesn't even vote with the team often enough.

There are no coincidences. Look at the alliances and what these people have each publicly said for years. Which ones have proven to be pro Russia? What was Epsteins JOB (as in…Who was he working for)? His job was extortion and blackmail.

Think about everything we are dealing with right now….and then for the recent weeks…months… Years….

The fact that T has had independent media in his narcissistic head repeatedly going on about how P was using him as a lap dog….

He has transitioned to verbally chipping at Pootie publicly…. militarily attacked one of their biggest strategic allies, is sending arms to Ukraine and sanctioning R… and all the pro R people are turning on him…media finally reporting….

It's not all coincidences. I think internationally they are turning on each other because of his ego. Independent media needs to keep talking about him getting played…

That's how you know who is working for foreign interests in this admin & party as opposed to just self interests … who is turning on him.
