I hope she is right! Dems should never have given up on TX. it is a southern red state, but there are fiercely independent voters that see the current hypocrisy for what it is Stopping gerrymandering requires the vigilance of ALL parties. Republicans saw an advantage of taking over state legislatures as a way to get control of Congress. If the only path appears to be red, would be politicians take that easier path.
I lived in Texas and a decade later in Ohio when Democrats were state-level leaders. It is a scandal that Dems gave up on states when there voters hungry for good and successful candidates from their party.
Democratic voters are still alive and living IN both states waiting for the chance to stop one party rule. I moved west in search of a party I could support AND see them get elected. Not the only reason, but I'm doing what I can to support candidates I admire from afar.
As a former Texan (31 years 1989 - 2020), I haven't been able to think of Texas politics without thinking of Abbot, Paxon, Patrick and the nonsense and hell they've put good Texans through in the past decade. From now on, though, I'm going to think of Kendall when I think of Texas. He and his team and candidates are winners, not losers. Go Texas. Just donated some money to the State Party and so happy Kendall and Simon are connected. Simon knows how to win and can help not only Kendall but every state chair.
Kendall Scudder seems like the real deal. Articulate, strategic, measured. Democrats would do well if more party leaders had the skills Scudder seems to have.
Simon - thanks for answering my question about 2016. I hear this a lot still from my young college students who were Bernie bros and feel screwed from that reporting. Your point that Bernie was not a Democrat is so obvious that I'd never thought to mention that in my discussions with them! The bottom line is that we must do whatever possible to win in November!
Kendall Scudder is very good. It seems like he has the ability to run the Democratic Party in Texas! I’m hoping he is very successful!
Simon, correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it 2016 that Secretary Clinton's team predicted before 2028 Texas would go blue?

“Republicans aren’t gonna get 5 seats out of this redistricting.” Preach Kendall!!!
