This is one of the best interviews I've seen since Trump stumbled back into the White House! We need to keep pounding away with our messages about the complete inhumanity of those in power, and how Democrats will make our lives better.

Joy-Ann Reid --on live now -- has a good Medicaid/Medicare explainer for her listeners -- very informative. https://open.substack.com/live-stream/39707 I assume it will be uploaded for future watching.

Heard a story of a man put in detainment without his meds. (For a heart condition). His wife couldn’t get in to drop off his meds. A person walking out of the building (who happened to be a lawyer) took her on as a client and was allowed back in to get the meds to this man. (I hope they administer correctly and in a timely fashion).

Yes, I heard about this, too. The poor man's treatment not only lacked humanity. It was inhuman. Call these people who did such a thing what they really are. Monsters.

Please have Stuart Stevens back again. Plain-speaking truth is the only balm that quells the daily heart-breaking milieu.

Agree totally! I will push back more on those people that talk down Democrats as if Trump is better. I love Hopium!

Great talk with Stuart Stevens. The question came up about why Trump couldn't muster better polling numbers with his Iran bombing. My two cents is: One he told us he would keep us out of foreign entanglements and didn't and two, it felt as though he didn't make the decision, that Netanyahu did and Trump followed. Netanyahu is reviled in much of the world and it looked like he was leading Trump around by the nose.

One more thing is that it was not and still is not definitive. The Trump team ran out so fast to claim success that they had to make up stories rather than wait for any proof.

Yep, claiming success, when it's not deserved, is Trump's raison d être.

So much to track today, you may have missed this information from "Stand Up For Science".

The EPA Staff released a "Declaration of Dissent" to call out their Administrator, Lee Zeldin, for undermining the EPA’s mission.

Below is a copy from part of email from Colette, Stand Up For Science.

c.delawalla@standupforscience.net

"...That’s why the EPA staff decided enough was enough. They asked us to host and champion their Declaration of Dissent, publicly accusing Administrator Zeldin’s administration of “recklessly undermining the EPA mission in at least the following five ways”:

Exchanging ethics for political favor.

Ignoring scientific consensus to benefit corporate polluters.

Reversing EPA's progress in America's most vulnerable communities.

Dismantling the Office of Research and Development.

Promoting a culture of fear, forcing staff to choose between their livelihood and well-being.

After you’ve read their full Declaration, you’ll struggle like I did to name the most insidious of their detailed charges. But #5 is by far the most problematic — Zeldin assumed the EPA’ers left standing after his purge would be too afraid for their jobs and careers to speak up in dissent.

He was wrong — they just did.

Here's the link to read the entire Declaration and sign and/or donate if you wish.

😭. How stunning and wonderful. Thank you for posting this. I signed up even knowing how painful it will be to be involved.

I can hardly think of our Public Lands and Environment at such risk under this trump regime. It’s too hard to go there.

I am very worried about an American genocide. The question regarding what will the government do with all these detainees raises alarming possibilities. The fact that congressional oversight is blocked quite often by ICE increases the danger. I fear that many will be sent to third countries where they will then die or be sold into slave labor, where they will die eventually. The violence in these centers might increase to the point where there’s a lot of intentional killing. These could easily become American gulags. The horrible conditions has and will cause deaths. We need to urge our senators and representatives to exercise their right to oversight. I know many have tried, but that also some have been blocked. Any thoughts on other actions a person could take to protect those in detention?

I call ICE facilities Concentration and/or Death Camps -- maybe it's my age -- but that really evokes strong feelings in me..... Something I never thought I'd see in the USA.

Everyone needs to take the time to watch this interview. Your analysis near the end, Simon, is incredibly powerful: that history will place Trump in the same pantheon as Stalin, Pol Pot, and Hitler due to the foreseeable results of his mass deportation program and his USAID cuts.

Simon, when you said that 12 people have died in ICE custody, I could just see a big "scoreboard" with a huge number 12 and above it the title, "Number of people who have died in ICE custody!" A sign like this needs to be seen everywhere. Please get this started. Soon, we will want scoreboards that have "The Number of Hospitals Closed due to loss of Medicaid." There seem to be no end. Thanks for all you do.
