I am taking this post down for it completely dismisses and ignores all of the stuff we've been talking about this week and "it's over and we are fucked" sentiment simply isn't allowed here for it is 1) self-indulgent 2) demobilizing for others 3) not true and insulting to everyone who works hard here every day. If you want to comment here in the future you need to do better. Thank you.

Danger Looming for 2026 Midterms Under the Lawlessness of the Nazi Party

Berulis the whistleblower who just showed us what the Nazi goons did at NLRB should be very concerning DOGE has been into the federal databases at many different agencies now and they are cultivating a database outside govt to be used by the Nazi party for nefarious purposes

One purpose that should very much concern all of us is the use of DMF(death master files) which are meant to affect immigrants but other citizens as well whose social security numbers can be deleted so that the affected can no longer function financially in the country(being wrongfully identified as dead leads to benefit termination causing financial hardship and distress)

Think for a moment about being financially dead You can't access your bank accounts, credit cards, pay your mortgage, collect social security These files are potentially being created as I write this to be used for all kinds of twisted corrupt reasons but the most important is killing voters ability to cast votes in 2026

Contact your state AG and tell them of this concern This activity must be guarded against

Wonderful afternoon of info between Simon's interview with Anna (yes, have her back again and soon) and the Senator's presser.

But. I don't know whether to be despairing or hopeful.

Considering the Fascist Fraternity that Trump has found himself at home in; you know, where people drop dead of "natural causes" in prison, "fall out" of windows and "fall off " of roofs, and suffer from lethal gastrointestinal issues due to poisoning, it's not a great leap to wonder if we'll be waking up tomorrow morning to some news about Garcia "giving up all hope," or seeking "redemption" because of his "guilt."

Please, let's delete that thought and keep the vision that justice will prevail. Every court so far, from District Court to SCOTUS has ruled that the government violated the law and has a responsibility to do something about it. The courage of Senator Van Hollen will matter. The public outrage is palpable, and we always have hope. It's worth reading those court decisions, and they were discussed on PBS Washington Week tonight. https://www.pbs.org/weta/washingtonweek/live Tonight The Washington Post and Associated Press reported that Mr. Kilmar Ábrego García was moved from the CECOT maximum-security prison to a different detention center in Santa Ana with better conditions. Mr. Garcia spoke about it when he was brought to the hotel where the Senator was staying. He is a sheet-metal worker and the sheet-metal-workers union is in the fight to bring him home. https://wapo.st/42jJhOB

UPDATE: SCOTUS Saturday morning: “The government is directed not to remove any member of the putative class of detainees from the United States until further order of this court.” The class refers to deportations under the "Alien Enemies Act." Don't mean to ruin Happy Hour for Hopiumity but....

Tom Homan: Honestly, I thought it was my hearing until I spoke to a friend who said she also needed subtitles for whatever came out of that man's mouth. So, I was happy it wasn't my hearing.

True, we may be NY lefty elites (and Homan himself, per his bio, was born in NYS!!!!), I cop to that. I am what I am, though, I always try to remain cognizant that my world is not the entire world.

But am I alone imagining that while some dads rehearse with their garage bands on the weekends, Homan probably parades around in a white sheet and hood?

I know, I know, but I just can't get that image out of my head, whenever he tries to communicate that dreck that migrates back/forth between his brain synapses.

And when I was looking into more info about Anna, I saw her X posting (I'm not on social media) where someone, manually, from the WH, marked up the NYT's article about Garcia, like a bunch of children throwing eggs on Halloween. That the world could see this was just salt on a humiliation wound.

With a normal congress we would see impeachment proceedings already started. The American people deserve better and the GOP MAGA members need to understand that they will become irrelevant once the tyrant does not need them anymore. Same thing for the Supreme Court who gave this tyrant immunity power he did not deserve. They are the ones who prevented the DOJ from trying the orange clown before a jury of his piers for his attempted coup of 1/6.

Self-reporting - Called my Congress people and left voice mails about a statement issued by the American Meteorological Society titled 'Stand up for NOAA Research - the time to act is now'.

Here's what I said:

Today I read a statement issued by the AMS (American Meterological Society) titled ‘Stand Up for NOAA Research - The Time to Act is Now’. It lists the budget cuts that are planned to NOAA and provides a list of about 10 of the impacts to our country and the American people of making these cuts.

I quote from the statement: The administration's 2026 budget passback plan, currently under consideration, eliminates NOAA's Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR) Office and its 10 research laboratories and 16 affiliated Cooperative Institutes, and moves the few remaining research efforts to different NOAA departments. If enacted, the passback would close all of NOAA’s weather, climate, and ocean Laboratories and Cooperative Institutes.

This is completely unacceptable and cannot be allowed to happen. Please prevent these cuts. My main concern is that we cannot allow our efforts to address climate change to be dismantled or discontinued. I consider addressing climate change one of the world’s most urgent priorities, and with the constant chaos and emergencies being generated by the Trump administration, the damage to NOAA and the work it does to address climate change is not getting much focus.

In addition to contacting my Congress people, I listened to the talk between Simon, Stuart Stevens and Rick Wilson. It was very informative, and sometimes amusing in kind of a dark way. But it still made me laugh and I consider that a good thing.

I also listened to a podcast by Rick Wilson recommended by someone at Hopium. I like his very clear-eyed assessment of our situation and that he doesn't pull any punches. It's hard to deal with a problem if you can't define it, and he does a good job defining it.

It seems like there is finally some hope for Garcia. Thank you Sen Van Hollen! I do hope there’s recognition that, as much as we’re rightly focusing on Abrego Garcia, we remember there are hundreds of others in the same predicament that were also denied due process. Due process is the key Constitutional violation, as well of course as defying court orders. Garcia is the “little crack” that needs to become a very big crack!

Fascinating, thank you, Simon. I'm interested in the photograph of the senator meeting w. Mr. Abrego Garcis - I've seen versions of the photo that changed the background to a garden (gov officials also came and gave them additional glasses of some liquid - which they did not touch - to make it appear they were having margaritas, as the senator explained in one interview)
