I gave $10 one time to Josh Turek. It would be amazing to start the process of returning Iowa to a blue state where it belongs. The GOP has just been renting it.

Postcarding tonight. I am looking forward to the Hopium gathering. I usually work on postcards while I am listening.

Thank you, Simon! We have some great candidates to support!

I love the motto on the tennis stadium: Victory belongs to the most tenacious. (I think Bonaparte said it, but it's still true.)

I called Congressman Raskin and Senators Alsobrook and Van Hollen to say NO tax immunity for the Trumps and that Trump is dangerously out of touch with reality and must be removed. I'm writing postcards to Ohio voters today and looking forward to tonight's discussion.

I live in Omaha, across the Missouri from Council Bluffs. I canvassed for Hillary in CB and climbed lots of hills and steps. What Josh Turek has accomplished in his lifetime is amazing. I think he can win this seat.

I called about Bill Pulte this morning and Tillis's aide was fired up! He gave me a long rant about how terrible and stupid Tillis thinks Pulte is. I was stunned as this is the first time an aide has ever become animated with me. Budd's aide just listened quietly and said she would pass along my concerns.

I had the same response from Tillis's aide in the DC office. Only got voicemail from Budd. Man, I cannot wait to get rid of that guy.

Same! He's horrendous.

In working the polls in Northern CA yesterday my observation was in person voting was light & staggered. Ballot drop off was through the roof. 10% of our vote total came from new registrants … all choosing to be Dems. Becerra has real appeal. He is viewed as calm, competent, and a true California success story.

MrsCQ's avatar

I believe if there weren't so many Dems running, Becerra would have gotten more votes.

Have to think those votes for Styer will definitely go to Becera. I plan to.

MrsCQ's avatar

I also believe so.

Wrote to Booker, Kim and Gottheimer.... and added that Mullins states yesterday regarding following the law and the courts are unacceptable.

Good news about CA.

Obviously it was always very likely that Dems would get at least one through in the govs race, but that did not stop us doing the usual hand wringing and doomering for a bit!!

Seriously! I'm next-door in Oregon and even I was consumed by it. Can't tell you how many clickbait pieces I read about "lockout" fears. Hell even some of my fav journalistic content creators dipped their toes in it. I kept wondering to myself : 'Still overblown ? Or is this time it actually happens ?!' Thank God it was the former!

I hope all that attention to the gubernatorial race here will convince more Californians that yes, your vote does matter. And President is not the only office.

MrsCQ's avatar

Initially, I was very worried but as time went on, it seemed most of us were on the same page, wait to see who was ahead and then vote. Phew. Let's get rid of this jungle primary

Proud to have donated to Josh--another of our intrepid, patriotic candidates. Go, IOWA Dems!

I called house and senate moments ago on all of the 5 pressing points you outline…. Oh and on the tariffs too

I’ll add tax immunity to my next call too

Summing up to date--SCOTUS’s record so far (with more unfairness on the way): its opinions permitted newly drawn racist maps in LA, AL, TX. SCOTUS also ruled in favor of CA in support of voter-passed Proposition 50. Ruled against VA despite voters supporting the new maps in a cowardly unsigned, one-sentence order denying VA’s request.

I'm a big tennis fan. In all the years of watching tennis, I can't remember a tournament as wild as this one. So many unexpected wins! Exciting to watch especially younger players moving up the ranks. Kind of like our politics right now.

The match between Marta Kostyuk,& Elina Svitolina was another unexpected win to watch. Behind the scenes there is a video showing the two talking before the match as friends not rivals.

Post cards are so easy to write. I use Post Cards to Swing States. They arrive quickly, have recommended script, lists, and attractive cards. So far, I have 200 to write but plan to order more and more. I write them while watching TV, Easy peasy to good effect.

Thomas. No hand wringing or dooming thoughts. Only Positive Ones.

Now, I will make my calls to the Four R's and and include Simon's new message on Bill Pulte.

And, I can't believe what SCOTUS did! Horrible, Disgusting, unbelievable!!!

Amy Gertner is Graham Platner's wife. She made this video I found on youtube. I find it humanizing, and showing vulnerability and honesty. I suspect some will criticize, but Maine Voters get to choose.

We do dominate in Los Angeles as expected but the margin would be greater if everyone voted.

I begged people to vote and was greeted with "what's that, who??" even with a maga type candidate on the ballot for mayor and governor. Many think it's not necessary since we would win without their vote anyway. We want to win but also claim a MANDATE! And many others don't think anything can be done to solve our problems. I don't see it that way.

On another topic, the war goes on and we lose people, friends and money. What do you think of

the idea of parachuting some help for the homeless bombed out Lebanese as a result of Israel's

bombing? The US no, but maybe someone from NATO?

I know someone who hates Trump but doesn't vote. Go figure.
