I have Trump on mute as he drones on in Israel about I don't know what.

They gave him such a reception in the Knesset, I'm hoping he'll stay there and run for office.

Okay, Trump is talking pardons in The Knesset.

I've had it.

Cannot watch anymore.

Well I am here now reading and writing Because I can't tolerate trying to listen to him destroy the potential of a long-lasting peace deal with his now worthless Israel award congratulatory rambling b*******.

Like the lady said yes things can get worse!

Can't they play music like they do at the Oscars and get him off the stage?

Congresspersons call script anyone can riff off of (mine are team blue, so adjust line 1 if yours are red):

1. Keep holding the line on the shutdown! Y’all are rocking it. 🥳

2. Save the CDC. The Friday RIFs are ILLEGAL.

3. Speak up for Kilmar Abrego Garcia. Judge Xinis is likely to rule for his release from ICE incarceration this week. The judges’ rulings for his freedom must be respected and ICE needs to LEAVE HIM ALONE.

4. Join us for No Kings! Trump and his cabinet are trying to claim more power than King George had. The right of habeas corpus was enshrined in English law with the Magna Carta. So the threat to revoke it would not only undo the achievements of the framers of our Constitution. It would actually take us to a more tyrannical place than we were before we achieved independence.

Early post today.

Congratulations to Trump on getting the hostages released. I think it gives the family credibility to acknowledge this accomplishment and then refocus on the disasters at home.

Yes, but we also cannot forget the Joe Biden got most of the hostages released and oversaw the most significant and lasting cease fire so far:

The initial ceasefire agreement in November 2023 led to the release of 105 civilian hostages, including 81 Israelis, 23 Thais, and 1 Filipino. In January 2025, a new hostage return agreement was announced, under which 33 out of 98 hostages would be released in the first phase, including 3 Israeli and 5 Thai hostages. This agreement also included the release of more than 1,000 Palestinians held in Israeli prisons

Yes! How easy it is to forget. The numbers are clearly on Biden’s side.

A few days ago I toyed with a rather delicious thought: that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded jointly to Trump and President Biden. (That just might cause the Mad King to have a coronary or at least blow a fuse – and very publicly.)

That said, my favored candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize was USAID, for their decades of good work throughout the world. Unfortunately, the Nobel Prize cannot be awarded posthumously…

the gaza protest crowd would have a cow if biden got any recognition for anything. daily i have to point out to some idiot the things biden did so well. my area had a massive swing right in 2024 and there are real worries about how mikie will do with the many hispanics and asians here; however on dkos this. morning they noted betting markets have the r's at 7 in va and 20 in nj....we don't like to talk about them here, as they had trump winning, but i'll take the narrative where i can get it, because the nj media is not doing the job....the comment was hey, here's the chance to make a killing if you bet on jack c winning with those odds.

I don’t disagree. I fear however that the family can look like it suffers from TDS by getting defensive. From what I have picked up from the tin pot pol pot’s speech at the Knesset this morning, he’s degrading his own success. Let him hang by his own petard. Point of fact: Obama was president before the Abraham Accords.

Personally I worry very much how this success will influence the NJ election, especially when I add that the shore is flooding this morning.

as long as trump is attacking our own people with troops, it will only matter to those who follow this issue; i heard that today and it may have been rick wilson, not sure. most americans really don't care.

i just heard fred kaplan say on brian lehrer's show that biden does deserve some credit, and also that hamas is so weakened they have no choice. it's more like a surrender, and also he noted sunni arab states are not really interested in the palestinians; this is something i have noticed over the decades. it is enormously complex, i tried reading ian black's massive tome on the region, and concluded there is no one there who doesn't have a legitimate gripe about things. better people than me have failed to solve the issue.

Simon,

Thanks for the updates. I love the use of ridicule. Kind of difficult to call those frogs and unicorns terrorists.

I called the offices of Congressman Raskin and Senators Alsobrooks and Van Hollen to thank them for what they've been doing and to urge them to start making state and federal criminal referrals based on the almost daily illegality of the Trump administration. I'm writing postcards to Virginia voters today.

Another windy, rainy nor'easter day here at the Jersey Shore. I'm including criminal referrals and standing strong on the budget in my calls to Sens. Kim & Booker, both of whom are making the rounds on MSM and socials. The countdown is on for No Kings II, and they aren't going to know what hit them. Invasion of the inflatables! :) Looking forward to reading all the clever signs, and experiencing again the joy of non-violent collective action for a righteous cause!

With all that's going wrong, I try to find something to be grateful for each day, and today during this gloomy, wet and windy day, I'm grateful for having a roof over my head, food to eat, electric power to generate heat & get my daily tasks done, and the purring kitty in my lap.

Keep going!

Yes, I was thinking of returning to criminal referrals in my missives this week.

Trump suggesting Bibi be granted a pardon (before he's even convicted, no less) sparked that thought, so thanks to you for giving the cosmic kick in the ass to concretize that!

Stay safe and hope your power doesn't go out, Lisa.

I am also calling my State Rep, Senator and Governor to ask them to arrest ICE agents who break state laws and charge them. Trump can’t pardon those crimes. ICE agents have to be shown that they cannot act with impunity now so they can’t abuse people in our state now and so they know they will not be able to interfere in the 2026 election.

More good news from Bucks County, the "swingiest county" in Pa. Listen to this interview with the Dem DA candidate. Bucks County has NEVER before elected a Dem DA-- but that is about to change.

MTG’s truthful assessment of the effect of the reconciliation bill on the affordable care act gives me hope that the disastrous effect of the administration’s actions may lead to an opportunity for real change. If we can amend the Constitution to overrule Citizen’s United and the presidential immunity case, term limit the Supreme Court, reform the pardon power, etc. we could make our democracy more sustainable and successful. Young voters don’t seem to be as enthusiastic about our democracy as we are because it hasn’t worked for them. (https://americanpromise.net/. Proposal for Amendment that overrules Citizens United. 23 states have adopted it. Please urge yours to do the same)
