I'm not even done watching the interview with Scudder, and already I want to buy him a coffee or a pastrami sandwich or something. He's one of those guys who makes you feel hopeful.

Same, same! I'm not done watching yet, and yes, would love to go out and have a coffee (or tea, in my case with Scudder! He's got the fire in his belly and is very upbeat!

How much you wanna make a bet that when this Putin/Trump press conference finally happens, it looks very much like this:

Love it that you’re talking about building media infrastructure and the state parties—the great weaknesses of progressives/Dems. Thanks and please keep it up.

Two smart guys giving me hope (or Hopium) Amazed at how the national Dems have been so clueless about reaching Hispanic voters via social media, and glad that this might change for the better.

How in the world is there no Spanish language communication program in the Texas DNC and the national party.?! That is inexcusable and absolutely signals a lack of investment and priority. The good news is that it is a problem that can (and must) be remedied.

Any chance Hopium would start fundraising for the Texas Democratic party? We really need some national support here in Texas.

OMG. What a great show with Scudder!!!!! I have never felt so hopeful! I am sending this to program link to every network I am in.

Let's raise money that works for his vision: IDK what that money-rasin might entail, but seek your guidance.

Thank you, Simon for being prescient. Who knew TX might drive the Party???? I guess anyone who studied significant democratic changes in the country, nd I guess I did not pass that class....mea culpa..

(Tough times in your 'hood these days. I get hope you see the support from all the priests and rabbis who signed Budde's letter that people feel somewhat supported widely.

Hang in there. You keep us hopeful.)

Great interview. TX Democrats picked a dynamic Chair. He sees the big picture. He has the Hopium spirit. So good to see the next generation of Democratic leaders emerging.

Second time I heard mentioned that TX has the most black population in the country. Heard it this morning on Jamie Harrison's new podcast "At Our Table." He interviewed 4 members of the TX Democratic Black Caucus sharing their experiences after leaving the state to stop the redistricting. Such courage. Also mentioned the same thing about TX being forgotten by the party.

I think the Democratic Party deserves support from the DNC in EVERY state! Doing this supports the beliefs of Democratic and potential supporters who are just hanging on in what must seem to be a hopeless quest. Come on, DNC!! Do it!

Simon-I agree with all Hopium comments below and especially about you committing to lead work creating Hispanic media communications plan for Dems. Kendall Scudder is a very impressive Party Chair-love his spark and commitment!

I restacked your video discussion with Kendall and posted in on my Bluesky account!

Wow, Wow, Wow! What a fantastic interview. Simon was smiling from ear to ear, and I just loved to see it. Kendall Scudder -- remember his name. I did a lot of volunteering in Texas over the years for various reasons -- some with Powered by People (Beto's group) and also for a dear friend who ran as a first time candidate from TX 10 for US Congress in 2024. I've spoken to lots of folks in TX from so many wonderful pro-democracy groups and this is the TIME for the Dems to invest in TX!

One bright spot in this is that most MAGA support is coming from conservative Boomers who are ageing out..

As far as Texas goes the urban areas run purple to blue. The largest cites are blue.

Most domestic migration is into urban Texas which is getting bluer.

Here in Houston (Harris county) the state govt is basically at war with us and we are fighting back.
