Please consider writing Vote Forward letters for the extremely important PA Supreme Court Election Nov. 4th to retain 3 Supreme Court Judges running against 3 Maga Judge candidates.

Vote Forward letters may be the only way some Pennsylvanians know about this extremely important election.

400,000 addresses/letters for Voters are available.

Judging from the LA fiasco, he's probably increasing the homeless population in DC because the Guardsmen will have nowhere to sleep. Any law-enforcement activities by the military is strictly illegal.

Still working at post carding for FT6, voter registration.

Through my Indivisible I am protesting in front of our local Social Security office. I am wondering whether we should now plan to protest the impact of the tariffs by protesting in front of grocery stores, etc. Would be interested in readers' thoughts about this.

Michael G Baer's avatar

My idea of protesting in front of certain places like Tesla dealerships or the Supreme Court is because those establishments act in bad faith. Grocery stores are not the ones responsible for the high prices of food. They are being hurt by the tariffs and protesting will keep some people away. It seems to me like it's the wrong target. Same with Social Security.offices They have been impacted by layoffs amd they are not the ones making the policies to reduce benefits.

I think it would be better to protest the policy makers, or businesses like Tesla where there is a direct line between the business owner and harmful policy.

Myrtis Meyer's avatar

Thanks so much for your thoughtful response. We would definitely have to make it clear that we support the stores and how they are being impacted. Our local social security office has welcomed us (just about 12 people each time so it is not disruptive) and it is mainly to get attention from the cars passing by on a very busy street. And those entering the office have welcomed our presence as well. But no doubt we would need to think through the best approach with stores.

I think the wording matters. We've held some events across from our local Social Security that we call "Rally for Social Security." Rally for is more positive than Protest, which is assumed to be protest against.

If you have an event near a grocery store, maybe it could be specifically "Protest against Trump Tariffs."

Thank you, Simon! I have dear friends who live in DC and I am worried about them today.

I called Congressman Raskin and Senators Alsobrooks and Van Hollen to ask them to take away Trump's tariff authority and to use the budget process to stop the expansion of ICE. I'm writing postcards to Virginia voters today.

Looking forward to your talk with Stuart Stevens; he's one of the most intelligent former Republicans working to stop Trump.

I disagree slightly: DC is the most crime-ridden city in the country, but the criminals are mostly all in the administration!

hysterical, albeit sadly an understatement

And although what the administration is doing is probably not categorized as 'violent' crime, if we count the number of people who are dying due to their actions, what they are doing is probably in a category of it's own (vs. the top 25 cities in violent crime). And then there are people who may not be dying right away but are suffering (unemployment, hunger, food insecurity, homelessness, deportation, etc.) due to Trump administration actions.

Maybe we need a new statistic or perhaps there are some that already exist that can be highlighted to show the impact.

And let's not forget to track 'crime' - the shakedown that Trump is doing to law firms, universities, rich billionaire criminals who buy citizenship to the US, billionaire payments for access, insider trading (based on tariffs being turned on and off) and on and on.

I had a wonderful One Million Rising meeting at my house yesterday afternoon…it was kind of a combination meeting because I had already formed an activism group shortly after the election in November when I hosted a “Worth Fighting For” gathering and that group of 8 folks wanted to keep meeting and working together…I wanted to expand that little group, because there had been some drop off in active participation (although when I asked inactive members if they wanted to be taken off my email and/or text group lists they said absolutely not…)…in any case, one of my very active members brought two couples and her husband along to the meeting, and along with a couple original members and a few I had recruited, we had 10 people present, all of whom indicated enthusiasm and interest in joining the group and continuing to work together!

Also, my terrific local Indivisible group is supporting my effort to do a Visibility Brigade type Be Brave protest this Friday the 15th along a busy street in Evanston, where we will hold up signs with large letters spelling out “Be Brave! Fight Fascism!” On both sides of the street…I also want to have signs directing them to Indivisibleevanston.com, where they can find activism opportunities galore in their weekly newsletter…need to find a way to put that on a poster in big enough letters to be easily seen. The speed limit is only 25 on this busy street, so although everyone goes 30, that’s still slow enough to read signs!

An idea that came out of the meeting yesterday was to host demonstrations at Northwestern University, possibly both in Evanston on their main campus and also in Chicago, where their medical and law schools are, which are located pretty close to Lake Shore Drive, so the gathering could be pretty visible…the idea of that would be to support their current non compliance with Trump admin’s demands, and also to insist that they do not capitulate to authoritarianism. I love the idea and plan to reach out again to Indivisible Evanston in that regard, and also find a contact in Indivisible Chicago to explore the option of one there as well…seems like a good idea for universities to know that their communities are watching, and support them doing the right thing when they are…

I have not been following the Chronicles as I did before the election. Have you devoted any space to the 2025 Georgia Public Service Commission elections? While I understand democracy is not at stake in elections such as these, breaking the Georgia Power/Southern Company regulatory capture of this (all Republican) commission could result in hundreds of millions of dollars of lower utility bills transferred to millions of Georgia consumers.

My generation (x) and above just doesn't understand that the life we had isn't really possible anymore unless you are wealthy. They don't get that college is three to four times more expensive, that student loans are usurious, that day care is basically pre-college, that the medical expenses for a family is thousands, if not tens of thousands a year. The legacy media doesn't talk about it, and people just don't understand--including many older Dems (not you Elizabeth Warren.)

EPSTEIN, EPSTEIN, EPSTEIN. Not to forget the issue of child trafficking, please remember this curious coincidence for Dolos when he was #45 : https://www.newsweek.com/trump-nader-child-porn-charges-prison-mueller-849498 . Even in Oklahoma, early MAGA Republicans were “complex” human beings: https://www.newsweek.com/republican-sex-trafficking-child-trump-coordinator-716348 . Why would they feel so comfortable around the Dolos team in 2016? This specific predilection is NOT NEW to these folks.

ON REPEAT (FROM MARCH) PER DOLOS, THE TSAR, AND ALASKA:

The NETWORK STATE - For the best synopsis of the objectives of the “Tech Lords”, please listen to this 45-minute podcast and share widely (these folks are going to leave a huge blast radius - if we let them): https://www.thenerdreich.com/the-nerd-reich-podcast-episode-1-the-network-state-2/.

Simon et al.:

Here is the second “Honey Do” list on the part of Russia for the USA to deliver by Peter Zeihan (patreon.com/PeterZeihan). As evidenced by the earlier list (yesterday), the ambition of the Kremlin is quite vast. Also, by the end of yesterday morning’s call between Dolos and his Tsar, we may all need to learn Russian as an additional sweetener to their “Do” list. Again, please note that any mistakes in “translation” are my own with these rough transcriptions:

1. Remove the statistical capabilities of the government to measure itself (see the cuts at the Commerce and Labor Departments).

2. Hobble Federal Law Enforcement to allow for Russian intrusion or free access spying into the USA.

3. Allow Russian Friendship centers like the Chinese Confucian Centers to develop.

4. Break the “Five-Eyes” Intelligence Network of English-speaking nations [I mentioned this in my note last Sunday].

5. End cooperation with the World Health Organization (worldwide health surveillance for upcoming diseases).

6. Stop working with Interpol (for fighting organized crime worldwide) as the Russian State has a large criminal component.

7. Go after the US Congress because they do the budget, and sabotage the country from the inside (they use the MICE process: Money, Intelligence, Compromise, and Ego).

8. Create a new focus on security outbreaks with many “whack a mole” prospects to sap the national focus (i.e. Gaza, Houthis).

9. Break the relationship with Germany, Russia’s always-enemy, with a focus on the AfD party, and just think how the AfD would manage a newly rearmed Germany (no more rhyming, this is history on replay).

10. Go after Greenland, a Danish concern, to disrupt the current strong relationship amongst Scandinavian countries (with Finland and Sweden being new members of NATO) and the USA as they have been stalwart supporters of Ukraine.

11. Break the US Military on a granular basis by going after the staff colleges that train individuals (i.e. the human capital) to become military leaders as career paths, and these colleges are also open to other militaries to help integrate them with our own on tactics, technology, and VALUES (“rule of law”, democracy, and so on). Think about the current “Anti-Woke” initiative that it is actually modeled on the MALE (usually Caucasian) warrior concept of the Russian military (remember the critical statements by Ted Cruz and now SecDef Hegseth about the US military).

12. Get rid of the DoD’s Office of Net Assessment (an internal military think tank) that does future war planning and interdisciplinary threat assessments. They JUST CLOSED it for a very specific “deep-state” raison d’être: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/dod-closes-think-tank-arm-marred-by-inefficiency-and-criticized-by-gop-for-ties-to-trump-russia-probe/ar-AA1AWea4 .

Yesterday and today, for the most part, I left VMs with my all-Republican delegation. The other day, I was able to speak with a young staffer for my representative. I shared the concerns that Simon has noted. For my senators, I’ve also added my thoughts about the viability of the F-35 program with different European countries starting to reconsider (Dolos is the world’s best salesman - for other nations): https://www.politico.eu/article/macron-to-eu-colleagues-stop-buying-american-buy-european/ . About 46 different states are part of the supply chain for this $1.5 trillion fighter program!

CARTHAGO DELENDA EST (via nonviolence).

P.S.: Do the following now! FIRST, TEACH CIVICS. Second, register voters. THIRD, TEACH CIVICS. Rinse. Repeat.

P.P.S.: DEMOCRATS (AND PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE) NEED TO HAVE “TOWN HALLS” IN REPUBLICAN DISTRICTS - ASAP. YOUR OPPONENTS HAVE WILLINGLY CONCEDED THE FIELD.

P.P.P.S.: Simon has often mentioned the earnest six-million patriots from the last cycle. This is a large pool of thoughtful energy/talent. SO, DEMOCRATS SHOULD ALLOW VETTED-VOLUNTEERS TO AUGMENT THEIR PAID OFFICE STAFF MEMBERS IN ORDER TO COVER THE INCOMING TSUNAMI OF COMMUNICATIONS (AND OTHER CONCERNS) FROM CITIZENS IN GENERAL AND CONSTITUENTS IN PARTICULAR!!
