Precisely what is being globalized? That is the question!

– Human rights, an equitable living wage, meaningful labor and union influence?

– Vulture capitalism, worker exploitation, economic disparity, elimination of unions, and the silencing of workers?

The answer matters.

What I learned registering voters with HeadCount.

Last night, I spent several hours registering voters at a "Goose" concert, a jam band that tours nationally. It was fun, team leader "Prince" did a great job training me. HeadCount is strictly non-partisan and is supported by the music industry and hundreds of the leading bands in the country.

Our goal was to get people to confirm that they are registered to vote and to register new voters. The process to check your registration is extremely simple and can be done in less than a minute on a phone. People who checked their registration got entered into a drawing for a poster of the ban and a "glow in the dark" Vote pin.

Other than begging for attention among the happy but preoccupied concert goers I learned there is confusion about youth voting and if "felons" can vote. In Missouri and many states anyone who will be 18 on or after November 5, 2024 can register to vote 6 months before the election when they become 17 1/2. I also learned that a lot of people have felonies on their record, mostly for non-violent drug crimes. In Missouri and in many states a felon can register to vote following service of their probation.HeadCount publishes a one page state by state guide that answers all but the most complicated questions. Also, politics may be local but registration is national. At the end of the night we registered 5 voters, 2 in Missouri, 2 in Indiana and one in S. Dakota. We confirmed many other registrations. At least half of the people at the show were outside MO or IL.

I got to see the second part of the Goose show for free. HeadCount rocks! It's a great way to register voters in a fun concert setting.

Simon, I would encourage you to also highlight the differences between the two parties in the area of LGBTQIA rights. Republicans nationwide are eager to pass bills to whittle away at our rights and the Supreme Court with its conservative majority has indicated they will do the same. June is Pride month, and Pride is under attack! I would appreciate your comments.

Yes -- this is a culture war issue on which we win easily. "Love wins!"

Terrific news!

Robert Kuttner has an article on the great efforts by the Biden Administration on behalf of American consumers. Specifically, the work of the Consumer Financial Protection Board (CFPB), led by the incorruptible Rohit Chopra.

The CFPB, a fine example of well-regulated capitalism in practice, is the brainchild of Senator Elizabeth Warren, with whom President Biden and his team are working closely.

I'm sharing this info with the doubters and the people who still are under the delusion that GQPers are "better" with economics.

We need to reach Christians, showing them Trump doesn't act, talk or believe basic Christian morals, lessons or conduct. He believes only in himself, his wealth, and his adult children. He treated America as his own piggy bank while he was president. He disregarded our national security, our laws, and our traditions. He broke our laws. He stole our classified records. He got his followers into deep trouble by lying to them. He surrounded himself with the worse people when he was president and dropped them when they were caught doing his bidding,
