I am calling so much that I find myself occasionally dropping the F bomb as I ask these people why they wish to turn us all into coal miners breathing black dust and dying because the hospitals are closed, or because the hospitals have no electricity to run on. HAVE YOU NO SHAME, I shout, hoping someone will hear me bc I have to keep using the voice mail option.

My mother would be so proud. (Not) I just got my friend, the clerk at the post office, to call. Now I am headed to the grocery store to give the phone numbers to my friends there. NOTE: Edited so that it might become actual grammar. I was literally typing into my phone while running through the PA heat from the post office to the grocery store. My apologies, all.

Hi @Simon Rosenberg I apologize again for being tone deaf with my comments. I want to be supportive moving forward.

To that point, I have been trying to build momentum around Dr Greenwood’s diagnosis of Trump. See below link. I have contacted several Politicians and others. I have an overview I want to send you outside of this forum as I do not want to dilute your focus in any way. Please let me know if you have any interest. Thanks

I hope every single Republican who votes for this God awful bill loses their seat. My “avid investor” congressional seditionist, David Rouzer, has already voted for it once. These bought and paid for Republicans will rue the day they voted for the crazy orange felon’s whims. The damage this bill will do to the country goes beyond mere dollars and sense. The red, rural states will get hurt the worst. Republicans DO NOT CARE ABOUT ORDINARY PEOPLE.

Imho, it would be opportune for Democrats to propose a "Deficit Reduction Amendment" that quite simply strikes the extension of Trump’s tax cuts, as well as his additional tax reductions, from the Big Ugly Bill.

In glowing words we can describe how Democrats want to seize this golden opportunity to reduce the budget deficit and reduce the debt burden of future generations of Americans.

These are, of course, issues that Republicans claim to care about, so this will really highlight the Trump/MAGA/GOP hypocrisy.

This is about seizing the narrative.

call your Senators to suggest it, Stones

I called both my Senators to suggest they strike the 2017 tax extension which will instantly reduce the deficit. I also asked them to reach out to their constituents for suggested amendments. With the power of the people behind them, maybe we can extend this all the way until Friday (July 4 ... take that Trump)

If that were to happen, no one could say that Dem Senators were not doing enough. Maybe McConnell and Grassley would stroke out and create a couple more open seats.

I also donated to Ossof and Sherrill today and Spanberger yesterday through Hopium

KEY INFO: As of 4:35pm, the Senate is still in holding pattern while the Senate Parliamentarian gives the Big Ugly Bill its final "Byrd Bath". The official Vote-A-Rama hasn’t started yet. We may see the Parliamentarian demand further changes.

THOUGHT #1: If the bill changes, Minority Leader Chuck Schumer should demand that the revised bill be read aloud – in its revised entirety!

THOUGHT #2: If the bill changes significantly, can Democrats demand a new cloture vote? If so, do it.

THOUGHT #3: Senators Rand Paul and Thom Tillis have already indicated that they will vote NO on the Big Ugly Bill. An additional five (5!) Republicans have not yet committed to voting for approval of the final bill. Democrats (and callers) should try to do some serious arm-twisting and appeal to their conscience.

and then it's time for consequences, i.e. jail time for treasonous traitors. Be patient... it will come to pass.

Guess what? The World Cup and the Olympics are going to be a total embarrasment.

The DNC has announced "Organizing Summer." CBS reports that, "

POLITICS

To help party brand, Democrats prepare "Organizing Summer"

By Hunter Woodall, Zak Hudak

June 30, 2025 / 5:00 AM EDT / CBS News

An alliance of leading national Democratic groups is preparing a new effort this summer focused on driving voter engagement as the party tries to regain support following its defeats in 2024.

The plans, first obtained by CBS News, fall under the label of what these groups have dubbed "Organizing Summer." While this year has relatively few major statewide elections, such as gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia, the 2026 midterms will be a crucial test for a party that is trying to respond to the lessons learned from Republicans' wins in last year's campaigns, including the presidential race. The groups behind the summer organizing effort include the Democratic National Committee, the Democrats' coalition of state parties as well as the campaign arms for House, Senate and gubernatorial contests.

The DNC alone intends to initially invest a six-figure dollar amount in the wide-ranging effort, with plans to scale to seven figures as the summer goes on.

"For too long, the DNC has been a D.C. institution, and we're trying to get the DNC out of DC and into the states through this program," a Democratic strategist familiar with the plans said.

The summer program is focused on voter engagement and registration, particularly with voters who wouldn't otherwise hear Democrats' messaging. The DNC has signed up 16,000 volunteers, twice as many as it typically has in an off-election year, according to a Democratic strategist familiar with the plans. As part of the summer effort, Democrats will urge volunteers to connect with voters in less politically dominated parts of life, with the outline of the plan pointing to community groups, book clubs and social media platforms as examples. I once again called my AZ Rep Greg Stanton and my two senators Kelly and Gallego to vote against the reconciliation bill. Stanton's office told me that he feels the way I do and voted against the bill when it was in the House and will vote against it again if it passes in the Senate. But I'm confused on the procedural manipulations employed by the Senate majority leader. It seems the GOP is always gaming the system. I'm also appalled by Lisa Murkowski's back room deal to spare Alaska while giving a big FU to the rest of the country. We're the United States of America not the United State of Alaska.

I'm grateful for Sen. Tillis speaking out loudly against the bill -- which he knows will hurt many people in North Carolina. Hawley of MO also was throwing out his misgivings over it -- since it will hurt many in his state too. But then he did an about face.

"Yeah, but he'd get primaried" .. is the easy, superficial answer. I have my doubts, which go back to Murkowski's comments about people being physically afraid.

I was in a protest in a small town, Pine Meadow, CT, yesterday. It was located on a small green next to a church but facing a busy road, Rte. 44. Many of us had to have someone help us and many including myself, had to bring a folding chair because at our age our ailments and stamina are beginning to wear us down physically. We know this bill will kill us.

It is already starting. In March, several treatments that I received Medicare denied the claims, though they had been allowed last year. Every 4 months I have had, for the past year, treatments for my back. Apparently, no more. Treatments to stop agonizing pain that allow me to walk are no longer considered medically necessary. Neither are breast ultrasounds- this is being appealed on the basis that I had recently had successful surgery for breast cancer.

So, I am fighting, not for me, but my autistic son who has an aide paid for by Medicaid and he does some volunteering with her bringing day olds from a grocery chain to an agency feeding the poor but this is not the 20 hours a week the government wants.

My husband, whose VA benefits just include medical for him, is older than I am helps wIth a small garden for us and for the soup kitchen. I want our son to be able to live in our home after we are gone but he needs his very expensive meds and his 30 hour a week aide paid for by Medicare and Medicaid. I don't know what will happen to him if this ugly, life-ending bill passes. So I will call again, protest next month again until I am no longer able.
