Brutal New Polling For Congressional Republicans
Job Approval Now 35%-59%, -48 with independents
Our friends at Navigator just dropped some great new research, “The Public’s Assessment of the House Republicans’ First 100 Days.” I encourage you to read the whole report (we will be using a lot of Navigator data here at Hopium), but want to focus this afternoon on a single chart, below.
The bottom line - the Congressional Republicans are in big trouble with the public:
Job approval 35-59, -48 (!!!!!!) with independent voters
Inflation 37-52, -27 with independent voters
Jobs/Economy - 17 with independent voters
I could write a much longer analysis but it isn’t necessary. These numbers are truly terrible, and they are in serious trouble.
It’s why we need to try to go on offense now, expand our coalition, and “Get to 55.” The GOP’s extremism and awfulness are giving us an opportunity to grow our vote, “Get to 55” - as we just did in Wisconsin - all across the US.
Our next big opportunity to claim more political real estate from a deeply unpopular GOP would be to elect Donna Deegan the next mayor of Jacksonville, Florida’s largest city. Donna is joining us Monday at 1pm EST. Hope you will come meet her and consider supporting her campaign. Winning this one in the home state of DeSantis and Trump would be a big deal, and current polling has her up 54-46. With our help, she can win!
Onward - Simon
I'm surprised the approval numbers aren't even lower.
I would encourage people to listen to the Tennessee Holler's leaked audio (from the TN state house leadership). These representatives are furious about the return of the TN3.
Their bigotry, moral blindness, and utterly skewed worldview is beyond shocking.
This will spur everyone to action.
