Joe Biden is wise president.

The world is much better off with him

We elected a skilled leader, not a celebrity. The press seems wedded to celebrities and it's time for a divorce.

Thanks to Biden and to Simon who, unlike much of the media including the NY Times and Washington Post, keep undercutting Biden and ignoring the danger of Trump.

And they also downplay the horror of Hamas.

Me too, I am ready for all safe hostage returns and the meaningless loss of life in these wars to end. Biden is the man for the moment, full stop.

It can't be easy to "negotiate" with terrorists, whose every incentive is to terrorize, not compromise. I note the irony of the International Red Cross's involvement, since the IRC long refused to recognize Israel's Mogen David Adom (the six-pointed Jewish star) equivalent of the Red Cross, even though the IRC recognized the Muslim Red Crescent equivalent. It's a good thing Jews and Israelis have a sublime sense of humor.

Thanks, Pres. Biden. Your work behind the scenes made this happen. Hope the MSM understands and reports this.

Please, somehow, let's keep the grownup President and Team in office for another term. Terrifying to think of a lesser skilled....or facist.....in office

This is not a good deal for Israel. 13 Israeli's, no Americans in exchange for the release of 150 terrorists who are currently in Israeli jails. Also, there is a lot of pressure on Israel for a 2 state solution which means once again that they will be asked to give up land for peace..... and every time they have done this, they lose land and do not get peace.

May I enquire as to what you would propose? I want Israel to get a good deal, but if there’s a relentless urban war in Gaza, Hamas will see to it that there is maximum civilian casualties which will make it harder over time for the international community to continue robust support for Israel and fuel the risk of a broader Jewish/ Muslim conflict in the region that could have catastrophic implications for the rest of the world potentially engaging in armed conflict. So again I would ask, what would you propose that would have a better chance at preventing WWIII and give Israel the best chance to exist safely and securely in the region? I’m serious and open minded to your thoughts

No deal should be made without getting all of the hostages out first. My mother and several friends live in Israel.

Agreed, but is there a deal of any kind being pushed other than securing the freedom of the hostages and providing humanitarian relief to Palestinian civilians? What am I missing? My sincerest wishes of peace and healing to your mother, friends, and all residents of Israel ❤️

I think the deal should be for all the hostages. Dragging it out this way could allow Hamas to be getting supplies brought in and weapons and has no endpoint in time. I don’t know what Biden and Blinken have been pushing. Further why are the numbers so uneven? Perhaps because Quatar funds Hamas?

I’m guessing this is the best deal that could be secured to the present moment, but I am hopeful that more progress can be made on its herls

I’m guessing that’s true. Just don’t want people to think this is fabulous. It’s not. And I am a big fan of Biden and Blinken. Hamas is already encouraging Gazan Palestinians to go to North Gaza which is not allowed in the agreement and 2 civilians were killed today because of it. It puts IDF and Israel in a real conundrum.

Bibi's abject failure as Prime Minister has left Israel in a very tough spot. It's stunning he's still in office. He put his own interests over Israel's, and all Israelis are paying a very very steep price.
