Thank you for planting this garden. What a gift to your neighbors and passersby.

It is an important gift to the birds, butterflies, moths, bees and beetles, too. Native insects need native plants.

Just put my Suburban flower garden in. Colorado and the rest of the western states are facing water crisis's in the near future. I love them but we need all those lush lawns to convert. Have a safe and relaxing Memorial Day Weekend.

Beautiful garden! Thrilled you planted natives. I love the combination of Lanceleaf Coreopsis with Blanket Flower (Gaillardia). We have only native plants on our property in the mountains of Tennessee. I saw your post earlier, but we were traveling 2 hours to an excellent native plant nursery where we bought 22 more plants. Tomorrow will be doing what I love the most: gardening.

Listened to an article in via NPR (https://www.npr.org/2023/05/28/1178452256/biden-north-carolina-2024 ) and put it together with some of the things Simon has given us. Makes me think that North Carolina GOTV for young people and Black people, would be a good place to concentrate my energies. If anyone knows of a good postcarding effort with this target (GO TV in North Carolina, focused on the black and youth vote) I would appreciate hearing about it. Our powerful Indivisible Evanston, my usual go-to for focused, well thought out activism activities, is taking a much needed break, but I am chomping at the bit to do something.
