Millie Polli Haskell. Welcome Eileen Higgins, I don't believe You will have any problems becoming the next Mayor of Miami. After all, this is the year of the Ass-kicking Women! I will send a Donation your way. I do live here in Sarasota County, FL.

Thank you Simon!!! Eileen Higgins is terrific and a good friend - we met when we both worked in Mexico City. It was a great conversation full of great messaging!

I have written postcards for Eileen! Speaking of Donna in Jacksonville, I wonder whether Simon might have a check-in with her - how is her term going?

WHAT a tremendous candidate! I'm just blown away by the caliber of the people running, whom I would never have "met" but for Hopium. You can tell Eileen will get things done! And she will respect her constituents while doing it. What a concept. Sending a donation as soon as the Hopium link is operational.

I love her use of the word "sinful" which must really resonate with the overwhelmingly Catholic immigrants. Combine that with the new Pope directly calling out the Trump administration by name. Mayor (for sure) Higgins, it's great to meet you and an honor to support you financially and in any other way I can. God bless you!

I don’t see a link for the normal Wed night meeting - I’m guessing because of the holiday.

But I’m giving thanks to Simon and all this community for all the guidance and inspiration during these difficult times.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Have a blessed and peaceful holiday!

Yesterday's Hopium had the event schedule, as does the Events tab.

https://www.hopiumchronicles.com/p/upcoming-hopium-paid-subscriber-gatherings?utm_source=publication-search says "No meetings this week everyone. We are back at it next week" and https://www.hopiumchronicles.com/p/event-schedule

Thank you! I didn’t think of checking the events tab. Yeah - I figured we skipped this week. I hope Simon - and everyone else- has a relaxing peaceful day tomorrow. Breaks are important! Plenty to do when we get back.

Thank you for focusing on this race in Miami! For a very long time it has felt very lonely down here as a Democrat.

What a sweet personality. We need more people running who remind you of your mom or aunt or favorite schoolteacher - regular, humble folks who simply believe in public service.

Her statement about "Trickle-down hatred". Wow, does that ever resonate! As others have said here, a terrific candidate. I'll donate once the Hopium link is established.

Wow - so great. I’m a former Miami resident (and someone who will always have a piece of my heart in that amazing city) and am so thankful that Eileen is the candidate for Mayor. I will give $ for today for sure. Creating space for Democrats in Miami again will have benefits not just for Miami but for all of Florida and can help us really put things in play again. The loss of Miami as a Democratic place has been a big reason while FL has turned so far to the right. The TPS revocation was incredibly mean spirited and also stupid because it meant revocation of the special status for Cubans (trying to immigrate) and hopefully loosening their close identification with the Republicans and MAGA. If you know and love the Cuban people and culture, you realize how diverse it is and that it should not be the unthinking political MAGA support base that it’s been since 2016. C’mon Eileen!! P.S. I wonder if the blowing up of the Venezuelan boats (and threatening invasion) is really a course correct following the TPS decision and something that is really about trying to appease the very anti Maduro Venezuelans in South FL?
