My initial thoughts on another ICE killing
Friends, this platform struggles a bit with fast breaking news but I am sending along a link to my post from this morning, and something I’ve never done before - below please find the individual posts from a thread I’ve posted on Bluesky that I’m sharing widely inside the family (hopefully it works!).

I want to be clear about what I've been advocating. We need to fight ICE but we need to do it as a national party and not just the Senate or House. We must learn how to come together for we are stronger together than apart. If we going to win this and other battles this year we must organized ourselves different, work together, and do as Europe did when one of their own was attacked - they banded together, and used their collective power to defeat Trump. This has to be the main lesson from these last few weeks. We need a unified national response from party leaders across the country.

- Pretti was shot 10 times after they took his gun
- He never "brandished" the gun, assaulted an agent
- They repeatedly pepper sprayed him at point blank range and beat him when he was down
- He was attempting to help a woman who an agent threw to the ground (battery)
