It's such a blessing to not have to worry about politics, it's a rare treat for someone like me who lives in ground zero, Washington, DC. It has been two years since I've had to tear down a nazi sign or avoid someone because of an Oath Keeper patch on their backpack and it feels so good. The worst crazies have left and the city has largely returned to normal.

That must be such a relief!

It's so nice to be able to let my guard down. I'm a small woman who works two blocks from the White House, there were some scary people around there, especially before Charlottesville.

Also, there have been convictions of a number of participants in January 6, including leaders of the Oath Keepers and Proud Boys. Stewart Rhodes and Enrique Tarrio have been convicted. Rhodes and other Oath Keepers have been sentenced and returned to prison. The sentencing for Tarrio and other Proud Boys is scheduled for August. I do not feel those already sentenced have received the long sentences I was hoping for but must accept it.

I'm healing up from hip surgery, so perhaps I'm a little more tender than usual. But, this column ending as it did with the Joe Biden for President ad, brought tears to my eyes, as did the cruel and unusual agenda of MAGA Santis. In my mind, there is no excuse for rational Americans to embrace MAGA. President Biden's message should make us all get off our duffs and work to make Biden's vision of America a reality. Bring on those postcards!

Well wishes for your healing, and for your support for grassroots and for postcards. Susan Troy. I’m writing Postcards To Voters for Ohio for Issue 1 on the July ballot.

So important, stakes are so high!

It sounds like there is a legal dispute regarding the language on the ballot for State Issue 1 in Ohio. Has that impacted the postcard campaign?

I love a quiet summer. I'm sure the Biden campaign is working hard this summer to lay the groundwork for the next year and a half.

Once I found out that the debt limit was raised until after the next election, my stress and anxiety level went way down.

Thanks, Simon, great perspective and I hadn't yet seen Pres. Biden's new ad. I think we're getting better at the messaging! This was a pleasure to share.
