Tomorrow the House returns, Adelita Grijalva is sworn in by the cowardly Speaker, all sorts of sparks will start flying and a new chapter in our fight against Trump will unfold......
Great discussion - and I totally take your point, Simon, that the messaging about what happened on Sunday was terrible. Looking forward to tomorrow's shenanigans.
The 8 Dems did not prepare people for this or have a clear explanation when they did it (a bit of “let them eat cake” on the Horrible 8's part--and then King went on TV and said, “You gotta hand it to Trump”--I mean, my God!) The way they did it was bobbled as well as questioning the substance of it.
I feel your pain KP! Glad you are getting it off your chest with Simon. This decision will hopefully motivate great people to run for office next year!
When I sent a note to Amy Klobuchar about the Sunday vote, negative, her form letter response was, among other words, It is my privilege to serve you"> After listening to this dialogue the word serve is good but not strong. It is my privilege to work and fight for you every day. Thanks I love katie.
Love Simon’s comment @ 26:30: they didn’t talk us through what they were doing! Which could have been used to do what you’re saying: bringing people along to the idea of Dems being the Adults in the Room.
Love Katie saying @ 39:14 she feels like Sisyphus. Yes! We’re all freakin’ Sisyphus.
Leadership needs to acknowledge our exasperation with this vote and the poor communication. Validate our anger, communicate better and don’t expect us to blindly follow you Secret Master Plan without being informed. Listen to us!
Hot damn, Simon, that was a masterclass in how to hold space for an outstanding and inspiring conversation! Such fire and wisdom here. Great job! I'm fired up all over again now! Yesterday you mentioned how we need to consider that there is a generational changing of the guard, so to speak. Hopefully with the upcoming younger leadership will come more dynamic and effective communication strategies.
This was a great conversation. Not a canned recap of your opinions but a real and thoughtful conversation in real time. Thank you. I enjoyed watching you two think together.
THANK YOU! I have had two clear headed experiences today to listen to you and Katie speaking and to read Heather Cox Richardson this morning explaining all the different balls on the pool table circling around my and, no doubt, other's heads as well. I noticed you have returned to the"morning" greeting. Onward!!!! to the good morning one!

Who is getting money from American Airlines???
This "Dems were paid off to do a deal" is QAnon level conspiracy talk and has no place here.
“Lying Frump”
He lies when he pees,
He lies eating cheese,
He lies in the morning,
He lies in the breeze!
He lies in December,
He lies in July,
He lies on the ground,
And he lies to the sky!
He lies when he’s chewing,
He lies when he’s tweeting,
He lies when he’s losing,
He lies when he’s beating!
He lies for attention,
He lies for applause,
He lies just because—
Well, he lies just because!
He lies when he’s golfing,
He lies when he’s still,
He lies when he’s scheming,
And always will.
He lies when he whispers,
He lies when he shouts,
He lies so much
That the truth tapped out!

Thank you Katie for speaking how I feel!
Not gonna support abortion
restrictions.
Katie's a firebrand! glad she's telling it like it is cuz we're pissed too
in exit polls in VA and NJ, from voters who "dislike both parties," 80% voted for the Dem, coz people see Rs hurting them and the country.

the 8 Dems confirmed everybody's biggest fear about Dems as a whole.
