Friends, Happy Sunday. It’s a beautiful morning here in DC, and hope you are getting some time to rest up and recover. Just a few things today:
Big Update to “With Democrats Things Get Better” Post - I’ve gotten some requests to provide a bit more supporting material to With Dems, so I’ve updated the original post with some links for those who want to go a bit deeper. Importantly, I’ve also posted a few of the most important slides from the deck which you can use, with proper attribution, in your own work.
One of our community members, Carolyn C, has requested that we do a stand-alone live-over Zoom review of the economic data in With Dems and in my other writings for those who want to go deeper, and work to better rebut their narratives. I think that is a good idea, and I will try to get something scheduled before the end of the month. Big shout out to Bruce Knoth who found an error in my graph below, which is now updated. I had actually understated the growth of the deficit under the second Bush Presidency. It is all fixed now.
I also appreciate the positive feedback I’ve gotten on this month’s With Dems. This is a very important and uplifting presentation, and hope you will find the time to watch it this month and share it throughout your networks. Use the main link here or you can also use a version that lives on my YouTube channel. Either work, though there is much more supporting material here on the Hopium site. Let’s be loud and proud people!
Remember there is a Hopium website/a note on comments - Want to make sure that everyone knows that Substack is more than emails. There is a very robust Hopium Chronicles website too. Please check it out. I spend a fair amount of time keeping it updated, and you should be able to find recent postings and event recordings there in case you misplaced an email.
I also want to request that members of our community try to use the comment feature more on the site rather than email me directly. Often times the questions you have are also in the minds of others so by answering them on the site we can help inform others in the community who may be wondering the same thing. Love the community engagement this platform allows.
Barr says Trump is “toast” - Yes he is a loathsome figure, but enjoy this clip of Bill Barr today:
And I close with a photo of our urban wildflower garden, which has really taken off this year. Enjoy your Sunday all - Simon
Love the wildflower garden. We have one as well. Our peak weekend is usually end of July.
What do you think of launching a postcard campaign to get the economic data out to Independents? or other voter categories?
I'd love to hand out bumper stickers With Dems, Things Get Better!
Thanks for deficit chart! Forwarded!!!
