And I noticed the crowd really responded to his mention of you all with a lot of warmth and passion. Every person counts. Every "job" we maybe don't think about that much. I personally always fill out the ratings for my delivery drivers, as I truly appreciate their service. Some of us are elderly or disabled or live far from resources and you all are a real blessing!

Simon, any chance you or someone else will make a web page where every video played during the DNC will be posted?

Every single video I have seen is powerful and truly memorable!

Agreed...i keep thinking back to one particular woman speaking on Day One about an older woman who influenced her path...of course, at my age, I cannot remember either woman's name, but I would gladly mine the videos to be able to cite her praise of her mentor.

The Act Blue link takes you to "Hopium's Winning The House Campaign" and I am pretty sure the statistics reported by Simon on based on that. It's also evident in every Hopium video from the 11 House candidates and in the webinars.

SIMON... You are 1,000% correct - both of the Obama speeches were DEEPLY GREAT AND MEANINGFUL. They really do need to be studied, parsed, thought about, analyzed, and re-viewed many, many times. They will go down in history - REALLY.

Both Michelle and Barack are such fluid, easy speakers; nothing seemed "overly rehearsed;" nevertheless, they came off purrrrrfectly!!!

NOW, let's go DO SOMETHING!!!

A bit off script here but I continue to be - I don’t know - disappointed, flabbergasted at The NY Times coverage of this race. I fell asleep before Doug, Michelle and Barack spoke so I checked The NY Times and immediately checked out. I found all the videos on YouTube, watched them in total and formed my own opinions. It’s like they’re headlining themselves into relevance.

Jarrod Emerson's avatar

Lemme guess, they were dismissive, unimpressed & snide in their headlines ? Fuck them. Some outlets will do anything to stay relevant. Perhaps when The NY Times behaves this way maybe it's a good thing - it this particular moment - that certain institutions are less trusted ? Or at least it's a good thing most young people don't get their news from outlets like the times or the post ? Just remember the fourth estate does need NOT HAVE THE LAST WORD!

I can't help but feel that mainstream media, and not just Fox News, is complicit in the rise and prominence of MAGA. It feels like they are failing to report facts and only seem concerned with promoting their pundits and selling ads. NYT, WaPo, and others keep peddling misleading clickbait, that, IMO, is harming our society. <end rant>

As a reminder ... I just read that the fascist side does not care what you think, they just want everyone's understanding of truth to be distorted and confused, so nobody trusts anybody (i.e., H. Lector nonsense). Keep moving forward, don't stop ... their attention is not work our time.

Inspirational, indeed. There may be no more eloquent speaker on the Democratic side than Michelle.

One side question, where perhaps you can offer reassurance: In some quarters, people are attributing the Harris poll surge to response bias? Do you have any thoughts on this?

People are excited again. I know I personally underestimated - severely underestimated - how much people were dreading a rematch between Biden & Trump. I even got into conversations with strangers who would bitch and moan endlessly about Biden vs Trump. I didn't want to believe it myself, but people in my life - relatives, friends, co-workers - have become much more engaged and excited, not kidding. I think most would've grudgingly voted for Biden, but It's a completely different atmosphere now. Night and day dude. It's not in the bag by any means. It'll be a hard fought battle, but as Simon always says I'd rather be us than them - and I'd MUCH rather be us "now" than a month ago! We can do this.

Let's be really clear. When Trump was winning in the polls, the press treated them as unambiguous predictors of the unalterable future. When Trump was winning, he was winning, and any attempt to interpret the data was instantly dismissed as "copium." The NTY, WaPo, and CNN wanted to make sure Democrats got the message that their goose was cooked. Now that Trump is losing in the polls, those same news outlets are tying themselves in knots trying to convince everyone not to believe the polls anymore. It's either "Trump's winning AND" or "Trump's losing BUT" with these second-rate political hacks posing as journalists. "Response bias?" Oh my god. Oh my FUCKING god.

My Republican friends are dazed and confused because our unity is so strong and that we have not reenacted the 1968 Convention. The sad Republicans insist that the smiles aren't real and somehow thousands of people are being beaten in silence and seclusion searching for Walter Cronkite to report it. FOX's Tammy Bruce reported on mass "self castration" throughout Chicago, apparently confusing vasectomy with castration.
