On Lawrence Last Night, Trump Is A Truly Terrible Candidate, ACA Signups Break Records, Hunter Blowtorches House Rs

Friends, a few things today:
I joined Lawrence O’Donnell last night to talk about why I am optimistic about 2024, and how current commentary is overly discounting Trump’s unprecedented “negatives” -
Trump is a much weaker candidate than he was in 2020. He is far more degraded, extreme and dangerous. His public performances are far more erratic. He keeps making huge unforced political errors, almost daily, on things that really matter. 35%-40% of Republican voters are not supporting him. A majority are not supporting him in the four early states. His party has splintered, badly, and the NeverTrumpers are going to be a huge problem for him in 2024. We know from polling that he will take a big hit if people believe he has committed crimes, and courts have *already* determined that he committed sexual assault, decades long financial fraud and insurrection. In a Tweet I posted yesterday, I argued that there may be as many as 9 things that he’s already done that will make it very hard for him to win in 2024:
His ongoing efforts to end American democracy
That’s he’s a sex offender, epic fraudster, insurrectionist, stealer of state secrets, Russian fifth columnist - all of these are known, already
That he and his family have taken more money from foreign governments than any other political family in American history
No one is more responsible for ending Roe and stripping rights and freedoms from women than Trump
He is now talking and raving like a madman - his public appearances are far more disturbing and delusional than 2020
His deep relationship w/Epstein, one of the most significant sex traffickers and pedophiles in the modern history of the United States
Trump is weak, awful, a disgrace, a loser - the very opposite of strong.
ACA Signups Break Records - The White House released this statement this morning:
Today, we hit a major milestone in lowering costs and ensuring all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care: a record-breaking 20 million Americans have enrolled in health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act marketplaces. With six days left to still get covered, 8 million more Americans have signed up for ACA coverage than when I took office.
The Affordable Care Act is more popular than ever, and Affordable Care Act coverage is more affordable than ever. Thanks to efforts by my Administration, millions of Americans are saving hundreds or thousands of dollars each year on health insurance premiums, and most people who shop for coverage at HealthCare.gov can find a plan for $10 a month or less.
We must build upon this progress and make these lower health care premiums permanent. But extreme Republicans have blocked these efforts at every turn. Their plan would raise costs for millions of people, especially older Americans and small business owners who rely on the marketplace for their coverage, by repealing the improvements I signed into law. In fact, they want to repeal the Affordable Care Act, just as my predecessor tried and failed to do, which would strip these 20 million people of their coverage, end Medicaid coverage for millions more, and return to the days when insurance companies had free reign to deny coverage based on pre-existing conditions and charge women more than men.
That would be a catastrophe for families who would face skyrocketing health care costs. I won’t let it happen on my watch. As too many Americans know: access to quality, affordable health care can mean the difference between life and death, and hope and fear. That’s why I will continue fighting to bring down health care and prescription drug costs. I encourage Americans to visit HealthCare.gov before January 16th to sign up for health coverage this year.

Hunter and the Dems Blowtorch the Republicans - Congress is back. And this morning, as one of their first acts of the new year, House Republicans held a hearing to vote on holding Hunter Biden in contempt for refusing to agree to a non-public deposition. He has offered, repeatedly, to testify in public, under oath. To reaffirm his willingness to testify, Hunter Biden showed up for the hearing this morning and offered to testify there and then. Here’s how part of it went down:
Of course Republicans refused to let him testify. Here’s Rep. Moskowitz reminding everyone that many Republicans refused to honor a Congressional subpoena into an insurrection against the United States of America:
2024 is here my friends, and the Biden family has made it very clear in the last week they are ready to take it to the Republicans this year. Let’s do everything we can to help them in the days ahead - Simon
Bravo, Rep.Moskowitz!!!Finally a Floridian I can be proud of beside Ms. Wasserman-Schultz!
The best part of this morning's Hunter show was when he and his lawyers left the room as soon as Marjorie Taylor Greene got the mic--forcing all media to leave the hearing and follow him out into the hall. Master stroke!
