Yes! Northern Virginia (Fairfax) is heavily Dem. We rely on strong turnout in NoVA and a few other areas to keep Virginia blue.

FT 6 new goal -- raise another million dollars to reach out to 15 million people, and deliver 4.5 million new voters to swing states and districts!

Larry Sabato moved NC to likely Democrat.

Yeah, but that’s the gubernatorial race, right? Has Sabato said anything about the presidential contest in North Carolina?

That’s for the governor race. I will listen out about the presidential race. I did hear Jamie Harrison on tv last week say he felt Harris would win NC.

Hi Daniel, how many new voters in swing states do you reckon FT6 has delivered so far in this election year? Any rough state-by-state breakdown of new voters? Keep up the great work!

Expand full comment
Daniel Solomon's avatar

No clue. If history repeats can expect 1 vote per 3 texts depending on location. I get virtually no objections in FL, more in WI, MI.

Do I understand correctly that one million Floridians have been moved to an "Inactive" list, but not purged from the voter rolls? And all they have to do is show up to vote?

No. Other states use that system.

So encouraging to read all the Hopium stories of people voting early yesterday. I am very much looking forward to see the numbers come in, with party breakdown where available.

One more thing: I would really like to see Deb Mucarsel-Powell added to the Senate candidates we’re supporting. Polls show she has a real shot to defeat the vile Rick Scott of Florida – if she receives help. The Democratic Party (and perhaps also the Hopium community?) need to invest far more in Florida.

Whether President Kamala Harris can pass the legislation and budgets she envisions, and have her judges and executive-branch appointments confirmed, totally depends on keeping the Senate! We need Mucarsel-Powell!!

Linda Cullen's avatar

I AGREE! Deb has a real shot especially with the abortion amendment on our ballot. I think she is now getting help from the National Democratic Party. But adding her to your list of senate candidates would really help.

I agree, too. She's an excellent candidate and her opponent is frightening and corrupt.

Our tiny writing group of retiree activists just finished our target of 3,200 letters with Vote Forward that we downloaded in April: 1000 PA, 600 MI, 600 NC, 500 GA, and 500 AZ! All will be mailed October 1st.

We plan on doing 1000 letters for our local CO-CD08 Rep. Yadira Caraveo re-election since Colorado's all-mail ballots will be mailed starting October 11 through the 18th to all registered voters. Colorado has the second highest voter participation rates in the country at 78% of registered voters in the 2020 general election! There are two important abortion rights amendments to the State Constitution on the ballot as well. My daughter and grandson were out canvassing for Rep. Caraveo this morning along with Senator Bennet and Leader Hakeem Jeffries! Everybody, keep up the good GOTV effort! We will win!

It is great to have these writing campaigns (postcards and letters) through so many different organizations available for those of us that have physical or temperment barriers to door-to-door canvassing. Phone and text banking is great also. Vote Forward is well on its way to 10 million targeted letters to Swing States to be sent between October 1st and the 29th. It should result in an additional net votes of 110,000 for Democrats!

Here in Arizona the enthusiasm and optimism is palpable. Ruben Gallego will clobber Kari Fake and we are likewise setup to bring our 11 EV to Kamala.

A question: if the Senate ends up 51-49 GOP what can be done to persuade Sen. Lisa Murkowski to caucus with the Dems? She has been an Independent previously and with the right message and offer might just jump to the winning side.

SO DYNAMIC! 👏 It’s new excitement every week, new stuff Vibes to Votes …Maxwell has impressed me for years , his message is refreshing clear and concise, Esosa was riveting ..the disinformation and how it’s identified, what to look for EXCELLENT.

It’s hard to remember all the talking points but getting smarter is obvious as to those algorithms and it’s done folks in every sector!

Gen Z is energy and what a big task ahead taking shape form and action…love it!

Thanks Tara and Simon..my little input still has a wide audience to allay fears , encourage voters, change the minds set in the lure of cult mentality…it still rather fascinated me when were it the Dems lying, fabricating ‘they’d’ be.all.over.it.

*I still remember an interviewer-people on the streets -reporter asking 10-12 people (done several times in facts) ‘what if …? ‘ the people were down on Biden but the reporter restated they’d read it incorrectly and it was in fact Trump who had done whatever…ALL the people excused it restating why it was acceptable coming from him…I was BLOWN AWAY!

Today years later much the same base mentality …but…..I look at the many many in ‘that jury’ switching to BLUE …ADMITTING it, professing, seats being won, polls flipping, former collegues…BRAVO

We.Need.Every.One.Of.You. Thank You🫶

Odds have changed but we HAVENT WON YET

💙💙🇺🇸VOTE BLUE.LETS END THIS COUP.🇺🇸💙💙

I'm so happy you're taking family time, Simon--it's really important for you to be refreshed and rejuvenated as we continue the fight! I'm writing postcards as I watch/listen to Ben Meiselas, the Courier talk, and Congressman Maxwell Frost. Frost's comments were really enlightening about college students, their priorities and why they're registering and coming to rallies. I also learned a lot from Ben, plus the conversations about Gen Z. It's very encouraging to see this next generation of leaders! As always, I'm feeling re-energized to do more after reading your newsletter and seeing the videos, Simon. We didn't have these types of online resources back when Hillary was running, and they keep our spirits up as we go for a Harris/Walz DEFINITIVE win! Thank you!

I voted in Minneapolis yesterday. The DFL organized an event at the library with speakers and entertainment, then a walk to the government center. Turnout was small (maybe 100 people) but I found it very moving. Older white folks like me were a definite minority--there were Somali-Americans, Hmong-Americans, Native Americans, African Americans--so many people (along with LGBTQ people, and people with disabilities) whose lives will be made much worse than mine will by a return of Trump to the White House. It made the chants of "We're not going back" so much more meaningful, because what they would be going back to would be so much worse than me.

The speakers included our 2nd Gentleman, spouse of Peggy Flanagan who will be our first Native woman governor, if all goes well. The next speaker was the Lt. Governor of Illionois, who spoke about her ancestor who marched from Selma to Montgomery for voting rights and various state legislators of so many diverse backgrounds. The entertainment included a drum circle, which, if I understood correctly, included drummers from 4 different tribes or bands; and two African-American women who sang songs from the civil rights movement.

As we walked to vote, I met an 18-year-old who was voting for the first time ever, and a 22-year-old, voting in her first presidential election. They were both so thrilled to be doing so.

I don't know how many turned out across the state. My husband voted at our local polling place, and said it was quite busy at about 3:00 in the afternoon.
