Yes. My Conservation

Go SABS.

Thank you God for people like Mr

Inslee in this world.

How's Napa doing? Well I hope

Thank you Mr Rosenberg. Sometimes the lonely fight for the good fight setting the seeds for the grand Unite is the hardest fight in the battle up front. Thank you for fighting on the front line.

I am playing catch-up with today's events.

However, looking at videos/interviews with Dems who witnessed Jack Smith testifying today, I was struck by the look on their faces.

When, for example, Jamie Raskin said Repubs did the right thing by not making this public -- it would have destroyed them (the Repubs).

There was an authentic, relaxed smile on his face, confident and true to his very bones, that can't be duplicated consciously or by force or on demand.

I would have given anything to have been in that room.

50 years ago, in 1976, utility rates were the major factor in unseating incumbent Republican Gov. Kit Bond here in Missouri and helped carry the state for Jimmy Carter. Missouri is a more red state in 2026 but it could happen again, even here.

Self-Report: It's been a busy week as I wind down the work year.

I know it's not much compared to what the rest of you guys are doing. Between work stuff, I did manage to fire off to my elected officials that I oppose any action that gets us into a war with South America and that I am opposed to any illegal actions taking place in the Caribbean.

It was that short and to the point.

Great interview. I'm happy to see you include climate in our issues list. Inside linked higher energy prices with the regime's canceling of renewable projects and tax incentives. I think that's a powerful argument dems should make.

Rising electricity (not electrical!) prices are being driven up by AI and the huge data centers it needs. Trump and the tech billionaires are shoving AI down our throats. AI is more unpopular than fossil fuels. Great issue for Democrats. Don’t need to harp on global warming and renewables. Focus on affordability and how the Republicans and tech billionaires are trying to force us to support a dangerous technology that drives up power bills and is destroying millions of decent paying jobs, an out of control technology that encourages suicide and social isolation so tech billionaires can become even richer and more powerful. This is the real populist issue of the day.

Hard disagree. But appreciate you weighing in. Climate change is an existential threat, and pretending otherwise is reckless. We need to be bold and courageous. And if you actually listen to the discussion you will learn that another thing driving the electricity increases is the huge cuts to clean energy subsidies in the big ugly bill. AI is only part of what is happening here.

I hear you. Don’t disagree that climate change is an existential threat, but unregulated AI is too. I’m a pragmatist who believes a political party’s first job is to win elections, and I think Democrats can win more unaffiliated and non-lefty voters by stressing affordability, income inequality and too powerful tech billionaires.

I read the discussion. I know all about those cuts and how they work their way through electricity markets. I covered and directed coverage of U.S. wholesale and retail electricity markets for 28 years. The biggest story in electricity markets/rates right now is the standoff in PJM over who will pay for new generation for AI data centers.

I don’t see how you and Jay Inslee can spend so much time on the subject of energy prices without mentioning the subject of rapidly proliferating data centers which eat up an ever-larger portion of our existing electrical supply driving prices up. Inslee even mentions Tucson AZ where a massive groundswell of public support at least temporarily derailed a planned data centers WITHOUT MENTIONING that popular effort.

Why are you unwilling to mention that effort?

The tech bros have declared war on Democrats. AI is not a jobs program - it’s a job elimination program! This is not 1992. The Internet is not the hot new thing. Sure, the fossil fuel industry is worth attacking, but so is the data center industry which may well be next economic bubble to burst.

Hi Simon,

This was really good. Governor Inslee was excellent. I was on the call live today as I usually am every Wednesday, and after thought that I need to watch more of your interviews with our elected officials. Gives me hope, and a reminder that there is much be done and can be. Democrats like to govern and we're good at it!

Thanks for all you do. Iris

It was good to hear from Gov. Jay Inslee again. I'm glad to know he's still in the fight. I appreciate his insights.

My wife and I met Gov. Jay Inslee once--on the Pacific Crest Trail. We were heading to Gravel and Ridge Lakes, and he was returning from them. We talked about wildfires and education. He would have made a wonderful president.
