Hopium Homework Over The Break - With Democrats, Things Get Better

Happy Holidays everyone!

As we all start to slow down for a much needed break and time with family, I want to send the most heartfelt thank you to all of you I can possibly send. Building this community of proud patriots working so hard to ensure that freedom and democracy prevail here, and everywhere, has been one of the most rewarding things I’ve done in my more than three decades in the fight. When I launched Hopium in March of this year I really had no idea what was going to happen. But I think we now know we are building some important, meaningful, impactful here, together, and for that I just want to say with all my heart, thank you. I’m having a lot of fun, and love doing this work every day with all of you.

A Story - A reporter called me and Wednesday and said she noticed in reviewing transcripts of the President’s recent speeches that President Biden had mentioned me in his remarks at a DNC fundraiser on Tuesday afternoon. Send it to me please, I asked. She did, and here’s the part where we mentioned me and my Tuesday Hopium post:

Yes, that is the President referring to something he read in Hopium Chronicles! Since Wednesday I’ve been able to confirm that yes indeed the President does from time to time read Hopium, as do others in the White House. Wonderful news to end the year with everyone - a BFD as the President likes to say!

Hopium Homework For The Break - As economic sentiment and our Biden/Dem polling numbers improve, we are going to have a renewed opportunity to tell what I call the most important, least understood story in American politics - that when Democrats are in power, things get better; and when Republicans are in power we get recessions, spiraling deficits and American decline.

Many have heard me say that establishing this basic contrast:

Dems = growth, lower deficits, American progress

Rs = recession, higher deficits, American decline

is our most important info warrior work in the months ahead. I think this emerging understanding of the success of Joe Biden’s Presidency gives us a big opening now to tell this broader story, and, together, we need to seize it.

So, our homework - I’d like everyone over the break to watch my 30 minute presentation, With Democrats, Things Get Better, and review this recent post, The December Jobs Report Is Another Good One. Through charts and graphs and loads and loads of data they tell a simple but powerful story - that when Democrats are in power, things get better in America. Watch the presentation, review the data, and let’s come out swinging on the remarkable success of our party and our President in early 2024. Loud and proud people!

Spreading Hopium in 2024 - As we close out 2023, I have one more ask from all of you - let’s work together in early 2024 to grow our reach and bring more people into our community. We are ending the year with close to 30,000 subscribers altogether, and 3,400 paid subscribers. I want to shoot to get to 50,000 and 6,000 by the end of March. We are growing fast, and more Hopium is being spread across the US every day, but I want to ask all of you to bring in one subscriber at your level early next year. If you are a free subscriber, bring in one more free subscriber. If you are a paid subscriber (thank you!!!!) please bring in one more paid. And if you are a Founding Member, at $1,000 (super big thank you!!!!), please bring in 1 or even 2 more at this critical level. Free subscribers can also of course upgrade to a paid subscriber level, and get the benefits of being a paid member of this plucky community of proud patriots and info warriors.

When we grow we spread more of our data-driven positive sentiment to more people while raising the money that allows me to keep bringing this high-quality content to all of you. Given our success this year, I have given up some outside work I had to keep paying the bills and am going full time Hopium in 2024. I can do this because of your generosity and support. Thank you all - I am really excited about what we can do together next year.
