We rose once as a huge united group, an inclusive group effort by leaders who saw the benefits to all.Messy, gritty, democracy. The rule of law, the balance of powers which is now coming under attack. Duh; I knew this but understand ( feel it) more clearly now that Repubs are on defensive trying to save their divisive,exclusive non- democratic way of life. We as a country and people are living through this challenge again.

Simon - I absolutely love reading your encouraging news, because I am certainly not getting it from MSNBC which is the last major news outlet I will pay attention to. You have been on the mark so many times with election results since I joined Hopium in early 2023 that I have been passing your link to everyone I know.
I love that you have a strategy for dems. That is SO important because we need a strategy for the next 100 years to maintain our democracy; keep people free; and make law according to the constitution which I believe is the perfect document 250 years later. I am committing myself to passing on to the younger generation how important the vote is....and the important vote starts at the local level - school boards, county seats, local elections in general. Dems need to focus on this because the republicans have done this long term plan for the last 40-50 years and have slowly infused local politics while dems weren't paying attention to the big picture.....
