Ukraine Funding Has Passed The House - Great Work Everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now on to the Senate......
Happy Sunday all, and a happy Sunday it is!
Funding for Ukraine passed the House yesterday, 311-112. It was a big bi-partisan vote, and another reminder that having the most experienced person to ever enter the Oval Office in a time of challenge has been a remarkable blessing for all of us. This was a huge, huge win for Joe Biden, and his patient, determined and deeply consequential Presidency.
In our spirit of do more, worry less I am so grateful that so many of you made calls to your Member of Congress this week. These calls matter. Offices listen to them. It was a week to stand and fight, and so many of you did. And we won, as we’ve been doing in our projects here at Hopium again and again since we started a year ago. Good things come to those who do the work!!!!!
Now on to the Senate. I encourage all of you to call your Senators tomorrow, and urge them to vote for the Ukraine bill this week. While passage is likely, anything can happen in politics, and it’s important that they hear from you.
Finally, this has been a truly terrible month for Donald Trump. Consider:
He was just loudly rebuked by his own Party on something that really matters to him, and he failed to hold the line on Ukraine funding for his ally Putin (Boss Putin going to be really unhappy!!!)
He confirmed that he’s the most dangerous abortion extremist in America, putting him and his party on the side of the most extreme - and wildly unpopular - abortion restrictions in the nation all the while looking remarkable feckless, craven and idiotic
His scammy new company has seen its stock price drop from 79 to 36.
He became the first former American President to become a defendant in a criminal trial. The prosecution’s opening arguments, which will be devastating for him, begin tomorrow
Based on early April fundraising reports his Party is being dramatically outraised by Democrats across the country, and Biden and the Dems are clearly gaining ground in national polls
After a terrible week, and with all eyes on him last night, his raging dumpster fire of a campaign failed to pull off a simple campaign event in North Carolina last night
The long list of prominent and influential Republicans saying they will not for him, which now includes 2 former GOP Vice Presidents, a former GOP nominee, a former national party chair and dozens of high ranking officials who worked for him, just keeps getting longer and more politically perilous for him
He’s now trying to claim - desperately, pathetically - he never came out for repealing the ACA - another wildly unpopular position he has locked himself into this year
The Attorney General of New York State is now challenging the integrity of the bond he put up a few weeks ago to avoid having his assets seized after having lost his massive fraud case in New York
On Monday, on the first day of his trial, he fell asleep in public before lunch, and he is repeatedly appearing in a scary new shade of orange not found in nature
Congratulations everyone. This has been a big week in our fight to ensure freedom and democracy prevail here and everywhere. Now on to the Senate - let’s work hard to make sure this passes and gets to the President this week.
It’s been a good week my friends. Let’s make this coming week an even better one - Simon
Let’s keep our fingers crossed. VOTE BLUE IN NOVEMBER!!!!
This is wonderful because it's the new reality that not all representatives are not lemmingly behind the Trump. The 118th Congress can still push forward the bipartisan immigration bill. This legislation could stil become lawl.
