Weekend Cheer - More good economic news, Jessica Craven on Biden's success, loving "The Bear"
Chins up everyone
Friends, didn’t want to enter into this holiday weekend all grumpy, so sending some Saturday morning cheer your way. A few things:
More good econ news - On Friday we got another inflation indicator showing inflation now way down, within the Fed target range. It’s very encouraging, and more evidence of the success of the Biden economic plan. We also got this terrific headline from the FT yesterday:
My appearance on MSNBC last night - I joined Joy Reid last night, and we discussed how this intense week reinforced the basic structure of our politics now:
Joe Biden = good President, getting the job done.
Republicans = extremist wrecking ball.
Jessica Craven’s New Biden Success Video - Do watch and share. It’s great. And subscribe to her Substack too. Love her work.
Finally, The Bear - I want to strongly recommend a show that I think is full of Hopium, The Bear, on Hulu. Not sure how often I will make TV recommendations but am strongly recommending this one. And will note that it features a friend from college, Oliver Platt, who has always been one of my favorite actors. Enjoy friends - The Bear is just remarkable and powerful television.
Season two of FX’s The Bear, the critically acclaimed original series, follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri) and Richard “Richie” Jerimovich (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) as they work to transform their grimy sandwich joint into a next-level spot. As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.
Chins up, keep working hard all - Simon
