We are so grateful to you, Simon, and your work. Here in Idaho there are some bright spots. It looks like the GOP Rep and Senator have some competiton this year in the midterms.
Some of the shorter posts look like snarky 8th graders wrote them. Even though trump's posts are immature, they have a different feel to them wording-wise. I think someone else has been writing many of these.
I do believe the Trump would want to do a false flag attempt. I do agree he would likely bungle such a thing. I just worry to many in the media and others would think of 9/11 and want to go along.
Separately, Simon, I thought you mentioned maybe on Wednesday having done five interviews on election planning. Here you list four. Was there a fifth one?
He might try anything, but I don't think he's likely to execute a successful coup. The thing that worries me is Trump loyalists in the military ready to commit crimes.
When this is over, the next president, despite the risks, should make us ICC signatories and send whoever needs to be tried to The Hague. Trump, Hegseth, possibly Rubio, and also likely Dan Caine and whoever executed illegal orders. This includes blowing up fisherman in the Caribbean and whatever potential war crimes they are contemplating in Iran.
Mailed my 25 NE postcards away. I will look for some others to do later tonight.
Simon, I want to close the loop with you on the problem I was having with emailings from you. I tried another email which worked and did a few more tests and then contacted substack. Their bot told me my email had been suppressed and they had fixed it. And it is fixed. I have an hypothesis that this was related to my paid subscriptions, since they were blocked but I got others. I just got an email verification request from them, so maybe they are checking things out. So it was on your end but not from your posts.

Self-report - Our plucky patriotic (thanks Simon) protester tribe in Menlo Park took this week off - first since last April - nominally for Easter Sunday. But last Sunday, day after NK3, we did the “Honk and Wave” (the latest dance craze) as usual, and on our way through the farmers market had a lot of folks say they were there at NK3 and we got lots of thanks. But it’s like losing my sanity therapy for the week, there are about 20 of us regulars and we’ve become close in solidarity week after week. we’re one of several small groups up and down the SF Peninsula (and I’m sure across the country) that demonstrate week in and week out, it only takes a few people to take a stand on a busy intersection and be visible.
I take everything Timothy Snyder writes very seriously, he knows his history especially the darkest parts (Bloodlands, for example) that he has peered into deeply. we have been warned about what is coming, nothing is beyond the fascist regime and followers, and steeling our defenses and taking the offensive where we can become imperatives. I’m somewhat relieved to hear that many organizations are at work, but in the end it will be up to We The People voting and protesting and getting our leaders to meet the moment.
Simon, I appreciate the way you embedded your previous articles in this post. When you include a simple link to go "here", it's easy to overlook. At least on my Android phone, it's just underlined. It might be more obvious in emailed newsletters, but I only use the app. I also like how today's is something of a Sunday recap. That helped me see that I had missed one of your fabulous interviews. Off to watch it now!

Is there anyway we can stop the proposed illegal destruction those bizarre TS posts promise? It’s totally insane. I sent my 100 postcards to GA on Thursday, encouraged people in my orbit to register to vote by tomorrow for our May primary, donated to the Hopium candidates and I don’t want any more damage done to hurt innocent civilians. The elections are so far away!
Simon, thank you for all you do keeping us informed and directed toward practical action. Could you address a worry that holds a powerful place in my mind: trumps et al seem to be doubling down on the insanity and disabling of American Institutions and Agencies. I feel this is aimed at a symbolic target, our 250th anniversary on this July 4th. Putin’s shenanigans with Iran, his many calls from trump, project 2025 creators realizing time and trump’s diminishing cognitive ability is pushing an acceleration of kneecapping our Republic (imho Putin’s Dream). While our attention is on November’s elections, theirs seem to be accelerating the steamrolling for July 4.
this "war" seems to bring out the true nature of the beast: violent, murderous, bully, megalomaniacal, authoritarian, unhinged, just plain stupid, no strategy just bluster, revenge to anyone/any nation that does not kneel, screw allies, plunder resources. now the world gets a taste of what we have been subjected to for years now. in spades.
