Simon, thank you so much for your work to bring us important voices. Governor Moore is inspiring and I look forward to hearing more about how the states are combating the federal lawlessness.

I really hope he runs for president. He’s so compelling and innovative. He can tell a story. And I’d love someone motivated to fight against book banning!

Thanks for this.

I haven't really followed Wes Moore's career, but from what little I have seen, he's another impressive leader we have on our side. Thanks for doing the interview.

 ⭐  Pre-Existing Means Excluded

We remember a law that said, “You belong,”

If you’re sick or you’re well, you still can be strong.

Pre-existing? No problem.

You’re covered. You’re in.

Healthcare was human—not profit, not spin.

But Congress chopped coverage and pulled out the thread,

Now pre-existing means denied instead.

Cancer? Diabetes? Asthma too?

Sorry, dear neighbor—not covered for you.

Then came the chatter on Fox every night:

“Just buy it at Costco! It’s cheap! It’s all right!”

Rand Paul waved charts with a confident grin,

But group plans don’t work when you’re already sick within.

Costco plans? They’re not magic.

They’re not ACA law.

They can screen you and drop you—

That’s legally raw.

No subsidies. No guarantees.

No rule saying insurers must say “yes, please.”

Just old-school denial with shiny new names,

A rerun of history’s cruelest games.

So grandparents speak up, steady and true,

Cutting through noise that’s meant to confuse.

Because freedom means care when your health’s on the line—

Not disinformation dressed up as fine.

And we ask it out loud, for the people to see:

If pre-existing means excluded again…

Who is healthcare really for—

You and me?

Loved the interview - especially as a proud Marylander! Thank you!

YAY - this is just what I've been hoping for, a bold and clear statement of what we stand for: work, wages, wealth... and then we hear the specifics of how Maryland put some of that into practice. I firmly believe the Democratic country is hungry for these examples, not to look away from the DC monsters, but to look forward as much as possible.

Wow. Thank you, Simon, for this interview. It seems like Gov Moore is working very hard for his state. I was a fan of his before this, and now it might be a full-on bro crush LOL

Thank you. I especially appreciate this today when there is so much violence, barbarity, and stupidity coming out of the Trump regime. How refreshing to hear someone not just pushing back against these idiots, but envisioning where we can go forward despite them. I love this. Governor Moore is terrific.

Governor Moore talks about how he never ran for public office before. Yet, he is quite a statesman and role model for us all. His message of pushing forward to demonstrate that there is a better way resonates. It creates an image of proud patriots advancing shoulder to shoulder, breaking through the obstacle with courage and determination, to lead us to our highest aspirations.

We need to focus on the PA Congressional races and follow Governor Shapiro's lead: From Politico, "it’s part of a broader undertaking by Shapiro to remake the state Democratic Party and spearhead its midterms efforts. Shapiro has installed allies atop the state party and funneled cash into its coffers. He’s already endorsed Janelle Stelson in her repeat bid to unseat GOP Rep. Scott Perry in the state’s 10th District, after she lost by barely a percentage point last year. Formal endorsements of Scranton Mayor Paige Cognetti and Bucks County Commissioner Bob Harvie against vulnerable GOP Reps. Rob Bresnahan and Brian Fitzpatrick, respectively, are expected in the new year."

While watching news coverage of the destruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge by a container ship in March 2024, I saw Gov. Moore in action and became very impressed with his competent professional demeanor.

Similarly, with Josh Shapiro and the destruction and rebuilding of a section of I-95 in 2023 in Philadelphia. Both, along with Pete Buttegieg, showed what cooperative leadership looks like.

The Democratic "team" has a deep bench from which to play.

Thank you Simon! I had never heard his very compelling biography. Right now I feel that our governors are protecting us from completely being taken over by tyranny because congress is constantly mired in gridlock. I hope he decides to run for president!
