So what is there to say about cowardly Mike Johnson’s unprecedented refusal swear in Adelita Grijalva? Abuse of power? Betrayal of the House and the legislative branch? Another sign of their descent into authoritarianism and disregard for our democracy and our Constitutional order? Incredible slap in the face to the people of her district and Arizona? Furthering the malevolent cover up of the crimes of sex traffickers and pedophiles?
The woman of the moment, Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva, dropped by to give our community an update on her fight to take her rightful place in the House. A recording and transcript are above. I’m excited to share it with you and hope you can get to it when you have the time.

To repeat, the cowardly Speaker keeps claiming there is no work to do, and thus there is no reason for the House to be in session. A reminder that the House was required by law to have passed a budget by September 30th to fund the government for the fiscal year beginning on October 1st. The Republicans failed to pass a budget and the government ran out of money; and in fact there is no budget, or even a process to create a budget. Johnson should have had the House back here working to get a final year end budget passed, and instead we have this, below. Nothing. No work. Just epic lying and horseshit, an historic and reckless abdication of Johnson’s important role in our Constitutional order:
