Skillful presentation of much encouraging news! Last evening's Zoom was extremely helpful. And listening to David Pepper "lifted curtains" for me. TY for all of this.

What do you say about the No Labels Party? The media is billing them as a Centrist Party; completely ignoring the real story on this "Party". Frankly, they worry me.

I am not sold that any of the current third party efforts will mount to anything, as I write here:

Need to keep an eye on it, and keep selling Biden so the election isnt close enough for any of this to matter.

Thanks for the response. I have been copying your work freely when commenting in other publications. I don't know if your subscriber list has increased but I frequently refer people to your analyses.

Simon, spot on with this analysis. It always bucks me up when I read your summation of the D's positives and the R's negatives. And as a fellow writer, you are a really good writer with terrific structure and turns of phrase. Keep it up.

Hi. Great Zoom yesterday. The media will not stop bashing Biden's age. We can't let "his age" be 2024's "her emails." Any suggestions for good responses to this? Maybe a post?

I agree with Katzenberg here. There are advantages to having the most experienced person to ever be in the Presidency. Age is not just about losing a step it's also about wisdom, experience and capacity. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/bidens-age-is-his-superpower-2024-jeffrey-katzenberg-says-2023-07-18/

While I think hitting 55% of the 2024 electorate is a laudable objective, I subscribe to the notion of targeting base and stretch goals for next year. In that vein, I think we should strongly strive for 57% as a stretch objective. I say that because I believe that we should not just strive to beat the GOP badly in 2024, but to make the repudiation as powerful as possible.

What a lovely piece to read while powering across the Nevada desert 🌵 55 or bust it is👍

Susan,

I agree! I “ was powering” across the Arizona desert hugely enjoying listening to all the work being done by Simon and this community of volunteer warriors. It definitely gave me a lift and hope for our democracy. Although I live in California I am a huge supporter of all the work Az and Nv are doing to save our democracy in their states. Loved hearing about Az youth voter project and am determined to “ adopt “ a high school; such great momentum for #GET55!! And build a base for beyond.

Irene, What a great comment to find on day two powering through the Nevada desert! Too pooped last night to read the book in my bag called Arizona Women! I so agree that Hopium is really empowering and I think we’ll make good things happen with all of us working together 😊

I'll take Simon's hopium over negativity any day. Thanks for this.

Another wonderful story to get first thing in the morning here in Montana. I think we really need to focus on supporting our allies In supposed Red States. I really want to figure out how we can help 😊❤️🙏

According to my adopted political advisor guru, (James Carville) the much respected JTester from Montana is at risk of holding his Dem position from all the GOP attacks coming his way. He’s one of the states, along with Nev and Arizona holding the line previously and still working hard to do so. Californians have supported hugely and I hope continue to do so. I read and am seeking to find again, article written about Democrat fundraising groups structuring their donations differently to support more local state candidates. According to this article it’s been overwhelmingly successful and focused dollars where most needed. One of the ways that “ help” you describe Susan, has been happening! I loved reading our group leaders are being more effective; we donate and hope for the best but reading this kind of game changing feedback makes it all worth it!!

Susan, have you read Simons notes about “ the Muscular response...Hopium response ..” ? He speaks so well about what changes have come to the Democratic supporters and why and what we can do going forward. You sound like an information seeker 🧐 ( like I am). I so appreciate what I’ve learned from key leaders like James Carville and now Simons’ Hopium Chronicles site. Basically what we can do as part of a network of concerned and caring citizens.
