It means we can succeed in getting the vote out in more state-level races, because those R candidates are no longer being supported by the RNC and have to dig up their own financing. They are also apparently abandoning the grass-roots efforts that they had begun before Trump took over and started siphoning that money off. That means that our efforts have a great deal more potential in tipping some races our way. Yay, postcards! Yay, small Dem donations!

I’m reminded of the old joke, Who are you going to believe, the blond with the big tits or Stormy Daniels.” The Donald is quite some guy alright.

Douglas, I am taking this post down, for we just don't come on here and dump our worries. Not what we do here. We do more, worry less. Thank you for understanding.

Well, I hope my recent post (about yahoo news) won’t get taken down on similar grounds. Think of it as me stating a problem and asking others to do something about it with me.

So THAT's how the brain worms got into the Republican Party! Well, at least now we know; perhaps a cure can be developed. Happy Wednesday, y'all! I'm getting ready to start writing a lot of post cards!

Simon, I really do believe as you do, the country is waking more and more to the stark contrast you and Hopium work so hard to appropriately showcase. I’m not as concerned as some may be regarding the 14 percent RFK is ‘polling’ in that AZ poll. He’s literally all over the map with these snapshot polls and the more he is revealed as this wackadoodle candidate—-the more that polling percentage will likely chop down to less than ten percent by November in whichever states he manages to gain ballot access (another hurdle I know we’re all trying to jump as well).

Meanwhile, a conviction for Trump in Manhattan seems all but certain at this point. Regardless however, the unwanted details and images Stormy Daniels’ testimony generated will

Increasingly burn into the minds of many voters all over the political spectrum (particularly women in the middle of abortion taking center stage) which is a huge bonus for us. It seems God willing, what should have ended him in 2016 is starting to come around full circle to help aid in taking him down here in 2024. Like you’ve said, the most imperative visual we can see as people amidst all the muck, is Biden’s steady hand in NORMALCY! That quiet confidence/diplomacy/old fashioned sense of decency especially in light of his excellent speech at the Holocaust Memorial—-is his greatest strength and most unassuming secret weapon.

Janice, All I could think of was the Twilight Zone episode where the earwig crawls into the guy’s ear, eats through his brain, and then crawls out the other ear. Fatal twist at the end was when he learns it was a female (ghost of MTG ?😂) that had laid eggs.

✍️I’m with you on the postcards.Just received 200 from Postcards To Swing States. Love the design on my Florida postcards. Actually, they’re all great !

A natural follow-up question:

"Doctor, what killed the worm that was trying to survive inside the brain of Robert F. Kennedy Jr? Were the conditions overly hostile?"

Doing the work, in my view, means increasing turn out. That is my focus. We have the numbers. Reading today's post, it confirms we have a HUGE, historic advantage in optics--what the GOP crowed about for so long.

We need Cheney, Ryan, and Romney to endorse Biden. Why wouldn't they if they don't want Trump re-elected?

How about GWB and JEB!? Here in Baghdad By the Sea, we could use Iliana Ros Lehtinen.

70 million did not vote in 2020. FT6 has identified 13 million who trend heavily Democratic. To protect American democracy, reach out to millions of unregistered likely Democrats using a dedicated database using every outreach method possible (phone and text, postcard, email and targeted ad, and in-person too), where new Democratic voters will make the most impact – in the most flippable states and districts.

Great news about Arizona. We’ve got a lot of work to do but are in an incredibly good position thanks to the pro-choice ballot initiative and Ruben.

I think the Stormy Daniels trial, despite the CW that this is the “weakest trial” and doesn’t matter, is incredibly damaging to Trump. This is the kind of story that will travel to non political media and remind people about how awful Donald Trump is and how he is devoid of character.

I know many of us were hoping for Jack Smith but January 6 and the documents are more abstract and this is very, very personal and will be very powerful. The fact that he groomed Stormy Daniels and then did not use protection and then later overturned Roe is a very, very bad narrative (credit to Lawrence O’Donnell for this thought). This is all compounded by the cynicism and illegality of paying her off for this terrible encounter from his business in a fraudulent and criminal manner.. He is going to get convicted and will own this encounter in a way he has not before.

We already have, as Simon has pointed out, enough to make it very difficult for Trump and we just got even more.

I also think it’s reminding women of just how callous and demeaning his attitudes towards women are- he’ll strip us of rights because he doesn’t view us as equals.

A number of people on Team MAGA are now saying the quiet part out loud. They actually dream of repealing the 19th Amendment of the Constitution.

Tightened my seatbelt as I understand daily the “dark underbelly of GOP politics” will rise. Not surprised but disappointed that JudgeCannon’s buried the case of Stolen National Security Documents by the IndictedCriminalFG. Also realize the LeaderMcConnell’s top priority over past 4 decades is to stack the Judicial Branch with Right Leaning Inexperienced Judges in favor of his extreme agenda without the support of the American People ➕accelerates chipping away from Founding Fathers Constitution. Sending out emails this morning ➕https://www.fieldteam6.org/ Feeling good about participating in Simon’s Hopium Chronicles. Together we’ve got 🇺🇸🗽🗳️💙

Biden’s holocaust memorial speech was so great. The entire world has forgotten about the evil unleashed by a brutal terrorist group - Hamas. I wish more

Democrats would focus on this.

More proof that Bidenomics is working:

The President’s agenda has driven the first, second and third strongest years of new business application rates on record—and is on pace for the fourth—with Americans filing a record 17.2 million new business applications.

And the latest Arizona polling doesn’t measure the impact of the abortion issue (women’s reproductive health rights) on the ballot this fall Arizona voters will get to choose.

And then .. chaos v stability at the top

of the ticket.

And then Gallego v a nut job.

All… easy choices.

We're looking good so the future of the country is looking good.

The most disruptive thing that could happen would be for the GOP to come to its senses at their convention and nominate someone other than Don the Loser. That would be great for the country, but whoever they nominate might become a bigger threat to win than Trump.

We have to keep doing more and keep our eyes open.

Expand full comment

No….

1. Not gonna happen because there isn’t a sizable enough movement inside the party to persuade enough delegates.

2. Whoever was nominated would start with ZERO hard dollars (unless Trump graciously released his campaign cash to the RNC to help the “team” that just humiliated him on national television), ZERO staff in place, ZERO field operatives, no well tested platform, and a very splintered party…..but most importantly, the most vindictive human being of all time now on a mission to tank their campaign out of vengeance…..oh, and btw, someone would have to wrest cont of the RNC away from him and his minions……they might win with him, but because of the faustian bargain they’ve made, they CAN’T win without him

Hysterical Title. I've just been reading on WaPo about RFK's health troubles. I have to say that it explains so much! SNL better be all over this story, I foresee a really funny skit with mountains of cans of tuna, a brain worm larvae skull cap while sitting in a precarious position in a Boeing restroom behaving strangely. Oh yeah, and don't forget the mercury poisoning was NOT from vaccines. You honestly can't make this ISH up.

Simon, it's May, it's time to start getting specific, repeating the deets until they stick in voters' minds. Suggested edits **:

Biden’s Successful Presidency Is Causing The Core GOP Attacks Against Him To Evaporate - Consider:

>The economy is historically strong, not weak

**As measured by ___, GDP is ___, compared to Trump's last year in office when it was ____.

>Inflation is way down, not rising

**The current inflation percentage is down to ___; the percentage of income increase is ___.

>Crime rates are plummeting, not raging

**Murders and assaults are ___, compared to ___ in Trump's last year in office.

>There is no Biden war on energy - 2023 saw record renewable, oil and gas production here in the US, making our country far more energy independent then we’ve been in decades

**In 2023, oil and gas production was up by ___, making our country.....

>Due to Trump’s idiocy and madness, Democrats are now the party of order at the border, the GOP the party of chaos

**Trump's block-everything party has turned down its own proposal for managing immigrants attracted by Biden's safe and successful America.

>Biden has criticized the overreach of the protests, vigorously condemned antisemitism here in the US, and is working hard to bring a two state solution, Palestinian statehood and peace to the Middle East despite his terrible “ally” Netanyahu (Drop this whole thing starting next week.)

**Biden is working toward a solution that is fair and just for both Israelis and Palestinians.

>The Biden crime family narrative turned out to be a Russian information operation. once again laundered by their allies in America’s GOP

**The Biden crime family story was a Russian information operation.

>Concerns about Biden’s age were greatly assuaged by his strong State of the Union performance, and by the revelation that the Special Counsel LIED about Biden’s memory problems.

**Biden works out 5 days a week, leads a competent and successful team, has a Vice President who is a known quantity and ready to go if needed, and when interviewed he speaks clearly and coherently.
